The Clear Alternatives tail light lens is a direct replacement for the stock assembly. No modifications to the ZRX are needed. The Clear Alternatives taillight lens is D.O.T. approved and shines brighter than stock. This is due to the patented red insert that fits over the existing clear bulb and a chromed inside plate that makes the light output more efficient. See the fine print below.

Installation Instructions

The taillight lens is a 30 minute simple installation. Remove tail piece by removing the 6 screws holding on the tailpiece, remove the 2 bolts holding on the under-seat storage box, then remove the 3 screws holding the tail light lens. Unscrew the bulb assemblies and install your new Clear Alternatives taillight lens in the reverse order. We suggest you use blue Loc-tite on reinstallation.

***The Fine Print***

Clear Alternitives' received DOT (United States Department of Transportation) approval on all of their whole-unit applications that utilize our patented red inserts. The lens-only applications are DOT compliant, however the red-bulbs and L.E.D.'s are still undergoing testing. So these lens-only units can only be sold as competition/show/off-road use, until we receive a full DOT approval. There are currently no laws barring the use of red bulbs. Clear Alternatives' bulbs light up just as bright, if not brighter, than stock. They give off the same red light as the lenses with the red inserts, but since they are not yet widely available DOT is reluctant to pass them. Check with your local laws.
