Just ordered a set from Tire Express. Got a nail in the rear B020. Still has plenty of tread but I don't feel comfortable riding on a patched or plugged tire. I'll stick a plug in it and ride slowly to have them mounted.![]()

Have just gotten a set of Road Attacks. Few miles so far, but the tires combined with flipping the eccentrics have transformed the bike (99 ZRX) Will add comments after more miles and smiles.
Replacing my rear Conti Road Attack@ 7,000 miles. (High speed interstate commuting) You can still just barely see the "Conti Attack" on the front tire, so am not replacing it, no uneven wear or cupping on it. I have a 1/8" chickenstrip on rear tire, about 1/4" -3/8" on the front. These tires perform better the the original Battlax 020's, and still handle well even though the rear center has about a 3" flat profile!!, also has bookoos of side tread left, but the rear does not last as long as the BT did. I got 9,000 with the BT. However, The front BT was cupped, and needed replaced. Am replacing with a pilot road, local dealer is putting it on, 140 for the tire, 30 for mounting, is what he told me on the phone, we'll see if he sticks to his word ! Best on-line price I found was 145, shipping included.
Been checking prices for these tires and found that Competition Accessories, which seems to be partners with TireExpress, has the same prices with free shipping with orders over $100.00. Has anyone tried the Sport Attacks yet?

4000+ miles and still looking great. I have been doing alot of high speed interstate miles commuting to work and some hard cornering on the off days. Put in close to 900 hard miles at Skennah. I think I'll get 7000 miles at least.![]()
Glad they're working out well for you. I got about 3800 miles on my second rear just about like the first and with the recommended pressures. I guess the roads around here are more abrasive since I never get near the mileage people often report on any tires I use. Less than 4K is unacceptable for me though so now I'm trying Diablo Stradas. I think I like the feel of the Attacks better but the Stradas are good, too. Profile is different; I've got about 1/4 inch chicken strips on the Stradas, but took the Attacks to the edge. Same roads, same speeds.
On the gas, kickin' ass.
I sell the Road Attacks for $ 200.00 a set. Shipping is about $15.00 for two tires. In
case anyone is interested.

I had sport attacks put on my bike at the dealers recommendation before I took delivery of my 04 rex a month ago. 1000 miles and no visible signs of wear so far on the rear. I don't think they are much different than the road attacks from what I've read here. We'll see how the rear holds up. I'm used to changing rears every 3000 on the vmax I traded in.

I do highway commuting, limited twisty, but still, my chicken strips are only 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Road Attacks are sure footed right down to the wear bars. Only got 7,000 on the rear though, still have the front on with a Pilot Road on the back.....the Pilot ain't as sticky.... has slipped on me a couple times in 2,000 miles when on a lean & powering. So far, in my opinion, for the REAR, the BT 020 is probably best as far as stick and mileage, gave me 9,000 miles, would NOT use a BT 020 on the front, though, would stick with the Road Attack as of this point.
Thanks for all the good info and feedback. Been thinking about Road Attacks for a while now and with this info, Conti Road Attacks are on my list for the next set of tires.
Silver REXs are sooo subtle - they slide right under the enemy's radar, then WHAM - they're dead!
03 REX - Akra, K&N pods, Ivan's jets, Teds Advancer, airbox out and chainguard, Chrispy's mirrors, Biscuits rearsets, Greg's brace, Armz shift linkage, Wog's seat, 'n some other stuff

[QUOTE=papa woody;967300]I think that 42 psi on the sidewalls is the MAXIMUM pressure, not the recommended pressure. But I could be wrong.
Adios,
Woody[/QUO
recommended tire pressure is on the sticker in your storage compartment by the battery..mines says 36 rear and 32 front
