I did the 208's and love the Diablos. Dunno about the Contis.

I was looking @ the the same tire and like the looks but know about the handling. They are calling them a "Sport-Touring" Radial and the tread pattern looks pretty agressive. I would like to know if anyone of our board members have any data on them.
They are called: CONTINENTAL Conti-Road ATTACK Sports-Touring Radial.

I saw a set on ebay:120/70/ZR17(front), 180/55/ZR17(Rear) they are asking $205.00 with free shipping Brand New. My 2000-1100 has the OME on it but she only has 4,650 miles on tap. (I got her last spring with 1,500). I just don't know how old a tire should be before replacement. Let us know how you like them. Thanks, Happy new year!

I was about to buy a set of these but I've found some info about them failing when used on heavy high powered bikes. I found some info about this on sport-touring.net and they said there was a lot of flack about them on the FJR1300 list. Now I'm not so sure I want to buy them.

    got em love em

    they're pretty sticky
live in rain ot taxing them in the country and they handle alot better than the 020 i had on
i'm not taxing them in the corners like some of you. but i can tell you they have held up well going
going real fast in a straight line.
had them on for hell and back so hot pavement and high speed loved em
the big differance is colder weather the 020 turned to stone in the cold
    these baby are still grip.
they're not like a sticky dunlop , but i need a little more life from my tires.

about 1500 miles and counting the front still looks new

ive, run the 207s and like them .road attacks seem to hold the road just as good.
and i like to go fast but i'm no eddie lawson.
but when the weather turns wet as it always dose here in seattle
the connti's fell much more sure footed.
but if you don't ride in the rain am not sure you'd prefer them over the new 208's

    Mountain Running

Do/have you taken a run thru the Cascades on the Contis? I really miss that place. Do the Contis feel smooth thur the leaning portion of the turn? No high/low portion of the tire? Doesn't feel like your going to fall over?

    Thanks

I liked the Road Attacks so much on my 1200 that I bought a set set for my new beemer. I have a set of 020's with 108 miles on them layin on the garage floor. I do like these tires when it is wet outside and they hang in corners alot better than I do.

I regularly run Michelin Pilot Sports or Powers. My buddy (who is 50lbs. heavier than me) has an FZ1 with these tires. I usually can't keep up with him. I'm no Eddie Lawson either but I can keep up with most on a ZRX. My point is they will work well in the twisties. He is actually testing the tires for a local dealer. He just went to the track at Laguna Seca last weekend. I'll try to get the complete report on how they worked at the track, on the street, mileage, warm up, etc. next time I see him... He has told me they stick as well as his Metzler M-1's but last longer..... Stay tuned!

Any news, StrongPerf? I think I'll give them a try. I've been happy with the Avon 45/46 but the Conti's are @$30 cheaper/set, have a cool looking tread pattern so what the heck.

    Ride Report

    Ok guys,

I've just talked to my friend Bill. He did 2 track days at Laguna Seca and one at Parumph. He said he drug his footpegs and can on his FZ1 all day. He said these tires stick as good as his 208's or M1's. He also did 1000 miles on the street. He expects them to last as good or better than 020. I asked how this could be. He said the rubber in the middle is very thick to start with. He said for his money they are tops. I'm going shopping! He also said there is an article about to come out (not out yet) in some mag called Rob Report. His bike is the Blue fizzy in the picture!

That's enough for me. A set will soon on my Rex. By the way, Do you know if he is running a 180 or a 190 on the rear?

What ever is stock for the fizzy. 180 I believe. I saw him again yesterday. He showed my where his pegs and muffler were ground down from the track. He loves those tires....

I have a set of these tires and they are great. The Road Attack was made specifically for naked bikes like the Rex......Speed Triple....etc etc etc. My set of tires were sent directly to me from the Conti-N.A. sales rep to try out and give him some honest feedback. These tires handle great in the wet and they warm up rather rapidly. Treadlife is really good too. At this time I can't give an honest mileage on the back tire......I did a burnout at a bike meet and probably took atleast 2k off of the tire. The Road Attack is much better than the Bridgestones that came on the bike. Just keep in mind........these are a sport/touring tire, so they might not grip like an all out sport tire.

    I've got about 3K.......

on Conti Road Attack tires....i be likin' 'em I am no Eddie Lawson (still have half-inch chikn strip on rear tire) , but it feels to me that the conti's are every bit as stable as the sportec m1's.... definitely gonna get more wear out of them, and save $$$ too...it's ALL good!!

I've put a couple of decent rides on them now, and they seem excellent. Steering is neutral and they work very well on the dirty spring pavement here in southwestern PA. I haven't ridden them in the rain yet, but on damp half-wet roads they stuck well. I can't vouch for how they slide but they don't break traction easily. Too early for a wear evaluation.
