    Re: Cheapo Block-Off Plugs.......yet again

So again, aside from cleaning up the area for maintenance work, is there any performance advantage to this mod?

Secondly, can this mod be done by itself without any other changes to an otherwise stock bike?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom from the collective....

Other than plugging the hole in the air box and capping the vacuum ports on the carbs, no. You can try enriching the mixture screws a quarter turn or two to reduce popping on decel, but that should be it.

Performance gains are non-existent for this mod. EX500 owners do this to reduce decel pop and lose a little weight.

Founding Father and educator Noah Webster (1758-1843) had this to say: "The moral principles and precepts contained in the scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible."

I did this mod today-- super easy, thanks for all the advice. I used the chrome freeze plugs. Mixed the JB Weld together on a piece of cardboard, dipped the top of the plate where the open hole sticks up into the JB (just enough to get some on the hole-- heehee) and then popped in the freeze plug. Sweet!

On a side note, this was the first time I ever took off the tank, and now that I have it reinstalled it seems like I notice some free play when I grab it and wiggle it from side-to-side. I had never before paid attention to notice any wiggle, so this may a case of me finally paying attention, but is a little free play normal? I think I got the tank aligned and installed correctly, the rubber disks (200 ZRX 1100) were intact and good.

Lastly , I noticed that my fuel drain hose on the rear of the tank was gone, maybe PO took it off. Is this a big deal? Don't flame too hard, I'm fairly newb
