I just put a small dabbing of contact cement on inside of pod neck and a lil on Carb neck. Sticks ok and wont come off unless you scrap with finder nail. Once dry install them and lighlty tighten. Have never had one that once to come off so far.

Just in case - I did tie them all together by running a bit of thin stiff wire thru the filter elements.

I see your point, but when is the last time a filter went bad?
Not counting installation error as above.

Seems everyone tends to gravitate towards the the tapered filter vs a straight shape. Is there an advantage to this?

Part # RU0984, (the ones with black rubber ends instead of the chrome ends) fit perfect on my 2004 1200. If I remember correctly RC0984 are the chrome ones.

Ok, the K&N #'s for the pods in chrome, but the #62-1010 for the crankcase breather has a black rubber top? Can anyone give me a part #, ( doesn't have to be K&N ) for a breather that is chrome, so it matches the pods?

didn't like the 62-1010, I wanted some bling, found this at Pep Boys, $10 in a 4 colors, both paper filter and stainless, with chrome accents, good stuff! The red also matches the red accents on my REX....

I did some looking into this option. I work at a motorcycle parts and accessories distributorship and while the rubber or chrome filters are sold as a set of 4, these are sold as 1 each and if you buy 4 of them you end up paying more total.

Oh and by the way, with my discount, I can get the ru0984 for 85 bucks.

    Re: K&N Pod Part # & Spec's

Don't know a part number but they have the measurements on the K&N website so you can bring that with you and find one that matches up. Here are the specs.

Give Jay a call at APE. Just be sure not to "blaspheme" when he quotes you a price as he is VERY religious & will hang up right about the time you get to the "f" in "how effing much???"

Just did the same thing here, great price, seems to be below most peoples cost, I know Ivan said it was below his cost. Have his pod jet kit coming as well as Ted's storage compartment mod.
