Saturday looks good 12 degrees![]()
Friday was too nice to be at work so I headed home at 11:00 and rode the ZREX back to the office. Didn't stay there long though as I came down with a sudden cold ;-)
Richard & Shads:
OK you two.
I’ll bet your bikes are away for the season now.
That is unless Richard has put spikes in the tires of his motocrosser.
Bob:
Funny you should say that. Woody at Woody's Cycles is a friend of mine and he has ice racing on his lake. I'm almost tempted to give it a try. Almost!
No the KTM has been put away along side the ZRX and the shed door probably won't be unlocked now until spring.
Happy Holidays and hope to see everyone in the new year.
Richard
Hey Guys and Gals:
Summer is just around the corner, soon be time to fire up the old bike.
I'm currently training to become a Motorcycle Rider Course Instructor with the Ottawa Safety Council.
Looks like they plan to have me pretty busy the first year, so I don't know how much time I'll be able to devote to organizing or joining our rides.
Would anyone be interested in taking on the very limited tasks involved in organizing our rides. Not much more than the odd email and ZRXOA posting from time-to-time??
Well the motorcycle training thing didn’t work out.
It required too much commitment on my part.
I have a whole new appreciation for those guys and gals at Ottawa Safety Council.
So it’s business as usual for our little group.
A number of us really enjoyed Julie’s tour to Val-des-Bois on the Quebec side last August. I was wondering if there is any interest in giving another try around mid to end of May ?
Revision
Better Idea from Dave.
The Ride for Dad is held 29 May.
Let’s go as a group.

We’ll do the Val-des-Bois ride another time
The Ride For Dad went well. Great weather. Dave, Mike and Bob from our little group made it. The rest of you missed out on a nice ride. The parking lot of the baseball field was packed with just about every kind of bike you could imagine, an old Norton, Enfield, dual purpose, etc. even saw something with a Chevy 350 engine in it! .
More than 1,200 men, women, and children raised $225,000.00 as they joined the Ride For DAD to Fight Prostate Cancer!

NEXT RIDE!!
So what about Julie’s tour to Val-des-Bois on the Quebec side??
How’s end of June time frame?
Julie what’s best for you?
OK guys and girls:
Our next ride is on the Quebec side.
Julie has arranged an enjoyable ride on those twisty, hilly roads for us.
Should be great fun, remember last year's ride!!
Hope to see you all on 27 June, approx. 8:00am, at the restaurant CORA on the corner of St. Joseph and Gamelin in Hull.
Julie has a couple of routes that depend on how long we want to spend in the saddle and what we want to see, so give it some thought so we can decide the day of the ride.
Thanks
Bob
Bob. Is the PQ ride on for sure? If it is, then I will try to make it. Fit in a visit with my Mom in Morrisburg. 2 for 1 deal. Ride to Morrisburg on sat, visit, ride with you on sun, visit some more, then back to Milton on Mon.
Keep me posted as it will mean me changing some significant plans on my end.
Pops
is MacGregor Lake on the route??
Size matters, good thing I drive a huge bus.
That is too bad, that is the weekend with my kids. I guess it will have to wait for next time. Have fun be safe. If you do go through Buckingham and then to the 148 through Masson-Angers you will pass right by my place. I think on a good weekend there must be 300 plus bikes that go right by my apartment but I have not seen one Rex, mayby I will see 4-5 soon.![]()
Pops:
As of this point in time, the next ride is 27 June as stated.
As long as Julie can make it and it’s not raining hard, it should be a go.
Hope to see you there.
Shads:
Too bad.
Julie sure knows how to find those twisty roads.
She took us to Notre-Dame-du-Laus, just a little north of Val-des-Bois.
Weather was fine.
Real nice ½ day ride.
but could not get it arranged to go. Glad you all had a great time.
Someday this will work out.

It was an awesome ride. Not only can Julie find those twisty roads, she doesn't mind cranking the throttle on them!
Seriously, it was a great day. By the time I got home I had done over 400km. Just enough that my ass wasn't complaining yet (gotta get that Corbin). I hit a little rain near Carleton Place but not enough to get real wet.
So, when's the next ride?
Richard
I wonder if Richard or Brad would share their favorite ride with us some time in late July??
Anything planned for the weekend of July 24/25. I was planning to go to mid Ohio but have decided not to. May travel to Morrisburg (weather permitting)to spend time with my mother. Down on Fri back on monday. I could fit a ride in on the sat or sun. I will watch this thread for any plans.

Pops I am available that weekend and I still have not met the locals. If you need a place to stay let me know.

I expect to be in Morrisburg those 4 days to spend time with my mother and as long as weather looks ok. If just the two of us want to go and are available, that's fine with me. We will set it up. I bet you know all kinds of roads around Bham that would be interesting. Once rode from Bham to McGregor lake 3 up on a 180 Vespa. Those were the days. BSA, Triumph and Yamaha Big Bear scramblers. A guy named Timmy Weir had the Yammer. (many moons ago)Originally posted by shads

Hey Shads, I'm packed and ready to go. Plans are the same as I said before. Lemme know what you would like to do as I am flexible at this point.Originally posted by shads

Would like to drop in on a B'ham buddy living in Kempville and maybe, just maybe an old female friend in Hawksbury.
Bob, Anything planned for this weekend in the Ottawa area?? Have there been the breakfasts??
In any case I'm coming providing they don't call for monsoons.

It looks like there is no interest demonstrated by the group of a ride this weekend.
Sorry
Bob
Hey Guys and Gals.
I'm down in LA right now but am getting back on Fri. If there is going to be a ride on Sun I would be interested. My wheels are in the shop right now getting 2 new tires but I can get those on Sat and install them in the afternoon.
Let me know as I'm monitoring the web page from here.
Richard Lueders
No problem Bob. I have lots of places to go and people to see. Maybe next time and thanks for getting back to me.Originally posted by Bob Kronberger

That’s a long ride from Ottawa!
Let’s see how the summer weather turns out.
Is there an event web site?
Hey Bob, how are you.
Any rides planned in the Ottawa area this year? If yes, post it up and I'll try to make it.
You should try to get to the KOTF rally, it's a blast.
