    First December Ride

We've had dry but cold weather the last week or so, but it's about to change back to rain. I rode the silver bike to play ping pong and do a little workout this afternoon, about 50 miles round trip. One advantage of short daylight is you can get early sunsets like this, taken at 4:21 pm. Very nice 37-40 degree ride!

Beautiful photo, Mike. There is not much nice about a ride at 37 degrees, except the photo.

Beautiful picture! I love riding in cold weather.....as long as the roads are clear and dry.

Many cold December/January/February/March rides in Seattle when I lived there and zoomed around on the GS1000S.

Very nice picture sure. What was your route for 50 miles in The Jet City?

Oh. And I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge your wonderful little red & orange colored safety bits on the side of the bike.
I'm not completely useless. I can always be used as a bad example.

Nice photo............ now that addition to my REX, I have a Versys 1000 w/ a large screen, the REX is a bit too cool on winter even in N. Florida. It makes cold riding so much better. Bundle up......

No special route; just from my home near Maltby to Everett for ping pong & workout, then US2 to Snohomish to gas up at the local non-ethanol station, then back roads to Monroe and on home. I stay away from Seattle proper as much as I can. And the reflectors are there because this is my touring Rex and I just haven't chosen to remove them yet. I have several spare sets if you need any ...

The electric vest and MRA Touring windscreen help a lot! I had the vest turned on going to Everett when it was below 40 degrees F, but for the ride home the temps were above 40 and I was warmed up from my workout, so no extra heat needed! If temps are consistently below 40, and the ride is longer than a half hour, I just add my electric glove liners and all is toasty until the roads start freezing. Then I stop riding.

You are an inspiration ! I took about a 45 minute ride today in 45 degree temperatures, time to bring out the winter gear, hope it fits.
