Hope our friends in NSW Australia are managing ok

heard on the radio yesterday 40m high wall of flame then saw this today:

I understand that its a yearly occurence(?) but this year is particularly bad:

Australian state declares emergency due to wildfires http://a.msn.com/04/en-us/BBWyE2Z?ocid=st
CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — Australia's most populous state declared a state of emergency on Monday due to unprecedented wildfire danger as calls grew for Australia to take more action to counter climate change.
I have a YouTube friend who lives in NSW, not to mention the members here. Known him for 5+ years. Will contact him make sure he's ok

I know MaverickAus is all good as he's checked in safe (Coffs Harbour) - I am not sure of other members in the areas affected. I know a lot of our New South Welshman are Sydney based (Nelso, Murph, Parko?) which seems to be ok so far.

    Stay safe people.

    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world...fire-right-now

Thousands of people have been displaced by bushfires across the Australian states of Queensland and New South Wales. A 'catastrophic' fire warning has been issued for multiple regions, including Sydney, Illawarra and Hunter areas. Commissioner of the NSW rural fire services, Shane Fitzsimmons, said: “The real challenge is we have an enormous amount of country that is still alight. They won’t have this out for days, weeks, months. Unfortunately the forecast is nothing but above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall over the next few months and we’ve still got summer around the corner.”

That's no good at all, I hope they're back on their feet now.

I have my photos backed up to cloud, so as long as my wife, son and dog were safe I dont care about the rest - I love my stuff, but at the end of the day it's just stuff.

I had some trees removed, and called a guy to remove the stumps. He showed up for the quote in a beat up Subaru.

He had lived in a town that burned up, where he had lost his house, so he moved to Magalia, in the foothills.

The Camp Fire burned his new house to the ground along with his shop and his race engine and parts. His cars and trucks were there as well, because he was on vacation in Hawaii.

Luckily, he had his stump grinding machine and old Subaru race car at his dad's house......in Paradise. The machine was on a trailer and one of the tires caught fire. That fixed and some melted plastic parts to change, and he came here to work using a borrowed pickup to pull the trailer.

The old car, machine, and trailer was all he had left.

Reports have it that some of the NSW and QLD catastrophic fires were deliberately lit.

We've had some here as well in the last week, a couple also deliberately lit.
The emergency services here were very quick to respond.

He should be thrown into the middle of 30 real firefighters who've just come off the line fighting 'his' fire!!! A little rough justice goes a long way!!!
