Holy smokes, $94 for OEM water temp switch!!!!

I need a water temp switch..............

But, I don't really wanna hand over $100+ including tax from my local shop for an OEM part.

What do you guys think my chances are with one of these ebay special doo-hickeys for under $20.00?........

Anybody here gone this route before, successfully?

Mine did the same thing about 4yrs ago and I felt the same about the cost, I put some epoxy on it and have been good thus far.

    Eventually I will replace it.

I'm pretty sure I have one, I'll check when I get back from this trip.

If not I can get you a new Kawasaki one a lot cheaper than that.

If you buy a new one, be sure to order one for a 1200 because it is an improved design that has a spade connector epoxied into the end instead of the flexible (ultimately breakable) wire sticking out.

No worries Pete, I ordered the ebay "special" and it's scheduled to arrive by the end of the week.

    Thanks for the offer though!

You know, I checked the OEM parts diagram and saw the different part number and connection for the 1200.

I wasn't sure if there was anything internally with the switch that would be different and keep it from working properly (maybe different resistance value?) for the 1100. I definitely like the design better with the spade connection though.

It's a moot point either way, I already ordered the other part.

    Thanks for the tip.

They are identical other than the connection. Just order one now because the wire on the one you just ordered will break again in a few years.
