Oh Boy, My Winter Project Is In the Works

Well, after I get the parts to replace the waterpump and other cooling components for my 2002 Ford Exploder.

In the meantime I have been getting things lined up for my leap into the sacred 1109 club

Kwick, thank you sir for getting that Rad Radiator for me that thing is a work of art

I still need to get my pistons so I can send out the cylinders to be bored and I also plan on getting some bigger valves for the head before I send that out.

I can't wait to get this project rolling!!

Just ordered the Yoshimura Cams yesterday from webike, they had a good deal on them and considering that they are rarely in stock for 1100's I could not resist.

No, as much as I would like to I am not that concerned about shedding the weight from the bike

I remember the last bike I took down the 1/4 was a big tired Suzuki late 1984 or earlier 1985. At the time it was the fastest natural aspirated big tire set up Suzuki and I believe it had stock size valves... good bit of aluminum head work but there wasn't much to gain from larger valves. It ran mid-low 8's but don't remember the MPH's.

    Good post eddy!

I'm not sure about his 1109 opinion . I have had no oil burning and haven't heard of anyone else having it. The piston mating with the combustion chamber might be valid.

I thought about the oil burning thing as well, I wonder if he did not check the piston ring gap(s) before installing the pistons or maybe there was something missing during the build (assembly lube) or his break in procedures.

Either way, I had Pm'd Kwick regarding the head rebuild and he stated that stock valves work great. If it saves me some pennies I am all about that

    Thanks guys for you input.
