    Checking in from Wisconsin

    Howdy!

I picked up a ridiculously clean 2002 ZRX with 10k miles this weekend.

After riding my 05 KLR650 for the last 5 years, I can't express how insane this bike is to me right now.

I love that this forum exists but I have to admit, I currently think you are all a little for wanting to get more performance out of this thing.

My first order of business was to replace the 12 year old tires so I have some Angel GTs on the way.

Can't wait to get out this weekend and get more acquainted with the new beast.

    Cheers!

When I first got mine, I thought it was a monster. Didn't take long to tame her, and that's when the mods began.

    Wayne, that's not a dog, it's a mosquito. They're big up there.

    Really nice yard and bike!

Welcome aboard. I can certainly see how coming from a KLR you would think us crazy to want more power.

The REX likes to roll off its kickstand, so park in 1st gear.

Congratulations on becoming a ZRX owner. There are a number of board members in Wisconsin. You missed the Wildcat Rally in Wisconsin by about a month.
Regarding your comment about everyone here being crazy, that's pretty accurate. I felt the same way about not needing to mod the ZRX. For the first 2 weeks I owned it anyway.

Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all!

I've been making sure the ZRX gets well acquainted with country roads and have had my fair share of, "good lord this is a MACHINE", moments.

I still think anyone that wants a 6th gear on this is insane...

    Cheers!

Monroe? That's not too far over the border. Hmm.

But if its on Saturday the 5th, why are you going to miss the Crud run on the 6th?

    Sharp bike!

You’ll get bored with the power quickly. Especially if you get a chance to ride something faster.

A few minor tweaks (carb tuning and exhaust) will unchoke the bike nicely when you’re ready

Word of warning...spending too much time on the forums will be bad for your wallet.
