    Hot weather riding jacket

I'm looking for one, so thought I'd check here first and get some input as to what you guys have or use. It seems like it gets hotter every year. I still have a good number of riding years left, so I need a jacket that will keep me as cool as possible.

I looked at Dennis Kirk but they didn't have anything appealing. I don't like riding in just a t-shirt, like I see so many others doing. I want some road rash protection in case I should go down.

Are most hot weather jackets textile? Mesh or some other type of fabric? I have little knowledge when it comes to hot weather gear and what works best.

Any and all suggestions, tips, or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Hot weather riding jacket

I'm currently using a Bilt from Cycle Gear. It's mesh, has armored elbows and a back pad. Cuffs are velcro, collar snaps and waist is adjustable. Fit is snug so no flapping at high speed, and the air flows through it really well. I live in central Florida so pretty hot ridding. Far more protection than the t-shirt I used to wear on the Harley I had previously. Decent jacket for the price. About $120

I've an old Dainese mesh jacket that I use the 2 weeks a year it gets hot enough here.
The first time I wore it on a hot day it was a revelation in cool comfort.

    It's something like this

Just about any mesh with armor would work. Pretty sure most have a internal liner now for rain/cool weather

    Check https://www.motorcyclegear.com/

Back in the day their name was New Enough.

Great prices and service many closeouts

I've got a Joe Rocket mesh with armor and the liner. Well, the armor is toast now. I left the jacket in my utility room where we do laundry and the heat caused the armor material to disintegrate.

I have a Bilt mesh jacket and like it OK. Got it on sale for 99. I wish I would have bought a different color other than black but at the time it was the only one in my size. I also wish I waited as 4 months later I lost over 30 lbs and I now swim in it. It has a pretty heavy duty liner that enables it to work in cooler weather.

I appreciate the offer immensely, but will take a pass. You should keep it, as you never know when you might wish that you still had it.

The older I get, the more the heat bothers me. My internal thermostat tends to run on the warm side anyways. It can be below freezing out, and I'm okay with a long sleeve sweat shirt.

The heat didn't bother me so much way back when. Things change as one grows older, and it's not always for the better.

I just picked up a RevIt GT-R Air mesh jacket that is CRAZY ventilated. Rode Pines to Palms today, got into Palm Desert 100 degrees, seriously no issues once youíre moving about 15 MPH...

Anyone have or use something like this? I like the idea that it can be re-hydrated by simply soaking it in water.
