    Yes, the ZX-7R was not a good street bike, the ZX9R way better, I think it was only produced because of rules of racing bodies, etc.
    Now the ZX-7RR raced by one of my all time favorite riders Eric Bostrom#32 was awesome, he battled the 1000cc and won many races against them, one of my greatest possessions is a signed posters by him personally, during racing at VIR !!

    Yeah, the ZX-7R was one of my first bigger bikes - in the purple/red livery. Like this (not mine):

    Just wanted to say, my 02 7r was my favorite bike I've ever owned. The ram air was intoxicating to listen to.
