When will you clowns deliver the ice-free Arctic youíve been promising?

Turning out a lot like the flashbacks I was promised if I dropped acid a bunch of times. Still waiting. Tick-tock.

Amazing, nobody has the answer to everyone's satisfaction, so don't do anything.

If we aren't supernatural, how could we affect mother nature?

I don't know, we probably can't, but we can sure build some crazy shit.

Mother nature always corrects things, and we are beating the crap out of her, retaliation is coming one way or another. Let's hope it's in a few thousand years from now.

    Carry on.

Buy an electric car that is 40% more expensive and shift your carbon footprint on to the electrical grid, which is powered by nasty pollution.

In Canuckia of the total carbon atmospheric pollution produced on an annual basis, only 11% of it comes from cars & trucks... Consumers buying our way to a meaningful solution, I think not.

    Hottest July ever..........

Meanwhile, in a relevant, world-class city (with proglodyte-sponsored feces):

Since this is the weather where I am, it must be meaningful everywhere else; after all, I'm far more relevant than the great majority of non-taxpayers on the board, amiright?

Dust bowl days in the 30's still hold most records. Nature has weather cycles that repeat but with the media we now have it seems like any new heat record of any kind is global warming. PBS had a show that was not hype in any way that the patterns we are in are actually the start of the next ice age. With more moisture in the atmosphere the clouds will increase and the earth will begin to cooling. This will all be more obvious when we are all long gone.

It's called 'single point pollution'. It's easier to scrub the pollution from one big stack than it is from 100,000 tail pipes. At least that's the theory. But electric cars are far from 'green'.

NBC evening national news tonight (I segwayed from my local B'ham news) spent 10 of the first 15 minutes of their broadcast on today's "heat."

This is just the membership wanting an open forum for EVERY member, not just like one of those secret "members only", 'like minded individuals'" type forums.
We need a place where we can solve the worlds problems, but without the personnel threats of course.
    Think about it.

The day after I am elected Tyrant, I will get to work solving the world's problems. The first few weeks will be controversial enough to cancel out most other day to day concerns, like member's only forums.

I promise, the temps will come down once the fires burn out. Vote for me.

Exactly! You got it. The planet is not going die by man's hands. But mankind will likely be the root cause of the next great extinction by which it too will likely vanish from the face of the earth.
Still, hardly a reason to celebrate.

Hmm... just read the link Arash provided.
I'm not sure why posts in this thread violated "squeaky clean" rules, but isn't the "controversy" of man's role in climate change largely political and thus in violation of:
