A little insight into the "quoting issue"

Now to figure out a work around to edit problematic posts without having to resort to tapatalk.

Looks like that silly apostrophe is causing that problem as well.

NOTE TO THE GRAMMER NAZIS: I will no longer be using apostrophes.

A little insight into the "quoting issue"

So what is so special about that slanted apostrophe that requires hidden problematic programming when a slanted comma does not (no apostrophe!)?

This no apostrophe usage is going to be a hard habit to break!

Ok, here’s one with an apostrophe posted with Tapatalk on my iPhone for someone to try and quote.

Reread my post. I am asking WHY is it necessary to use “smart” formatting for a damned apostrophe.

Damn it! I cannot edit my above post because I used an apostrophe, or actually a quote mark.

If I'm interpreting this shit correctly it sounds like the SMART (deliberately not using quotes, etc) formatting is some type of tapatapatapakeg default. But Im just a post whore.

smart quotes is not tapatalk specific. It's a keyboard option on your device.

Here's where you'll turn it off in iOS (apple):

So far it appears to this semi-computer-illiterate observer we are treating the symptom. Is it possible to patch or update the software\platform\server that the ZRXOA runs on for a permanent fix?

Well hot dam. I'm Apple. Smart was in the On position. But with your insanely simple "cheat sheet" it was 8 seconds to turn Off.

Interesting. My home computer (Windows 10) doesn't use the "smart" text function.

Update software costs money and as you know, changes more than just what "you" want changed. So like going from windows xp to windows 10 or iOS 6 to iOS 7, it's not that simple, and there is no going back. Then there is the finding the person who knows how to do it, and do it correctly.

It may certainly be possible, but are we all willing to let go of the look/feel of the current website?

The personality of the ZRXOA is so tied to the GUI of this obsolete software version, I’m reluctant to ditch it just to fix this quoting issue.

Maybe there’s a workaround that can be implemented in our current version but it’s not likely.

Agreed, Arash, the no-quote thing has been around so long it's a personality trait of the site! Kinda like some members!
