    Re: AV80R in TN - July 1-15 2019

Ah farts, I'm ready to take the General quiz now but they won't let me take it until after this afternoon lecture.

Once I pass the quiz, then I can take the actual test but there's no time to do both today...which means at best I'll take the quiz today and the test on Friday after the Thursday holiday.

Well I decided to pick up my car tonight so I have wheels for the 4th of July holiday.

I wonder if Graceland is open tomorrow. I gotta check that place out!

What other Memphis stuff tomorrow can you guys recommend for a weirdo like me? :

Uuuuhhhhhhhhhhh. O.K. Graceland huh? Seriously, it's not the best part of Memphis. Be on total awareness and high alert. That holds for all of Memphis.

Since it's is the 4th of July I don't know if Stax Records is open for a tour. Their recording studio is steeped in deep deep music history and the tour, that takes about an hour, is really cool.

ClayX you gonna be around Memphis tomorrow???

I'd go early to Graceland. They're will probably be people mourning around the gravesite. You could also check out Beale St. for cool blues vibe.

    leaving,

best view of Memphis is the rear view mirror (just my opinion)

If you haven't visited downtown Nashville it's worth spending a few hours.

    Wayne,

Six (6) straight hours on her feet. 6 hours of standing. Think this through my friend. Amy is NOT going.

I realize you don't have to stay all 6 hours, but dang it.....Arash is here. So you really need to do it right and stay all 6 hours. 6 hours really doesn't provide much, if any, time to see anything twice.

Nashville has one of the best fireworks shows in the country. I think it rated #2 last year. It's a shame I am at work, but you should check it out.

Saw the local Nashville news mention the other morning "one of the best fireworks displays in the country. This year there are sixty-three thousand shells set up to shoot."

If you have school on Friday, Nashville should have enough to do. Especially with the fireworks and Broadway st. Graceland is cool but not the round trip drive you'd have to make.

BUT, if you go to Graceland then drive to Tupelo Ms. and visit his birthplace. Now that there is a serious hunka hunka Elvis.

Just convinced the teacher to let me skip the lecture and take the quiz for the General section.

    Missed 2 and got 97%

Now I'm trying to bribe her to come in early AM tomorrow and let me take the real test while it's all fresh in my mind.

Got me a Nissan pickup until Monday morning. I'm a little bummed it has Missouri plates on it though. I've grown quite fond of Tennessee from what and who I've seen and met so far!

    Re: AV80R in TN - July 1-15 2019

I wish we would have had time to talk about DC stuff. You could teach me some math. I didn't know where to begin.

In DC, it's all about getting the little worker electrons to do some work for you on their way from one side of the battery to the other. So, you are looking for a path they could take.

In 8057, that path is across the fuse, up wire 19, across the contacts in the limit switch, down wire 8 to the light. Inside the light bulb, they fight their way across the filament (the work we want them to do) and the struggle makes the filament glow from the heat of resistance, to reach the path to ground/other side of the battery. Any break at any point along that path will not allow the electrons to get to the other side of the battery, and the light won't light.

In 8059, there is the fuse, wire 6, nose gear switch contacts, wire 5, LF gear switch contacts, wire 4, RT gear switch contacts, wire 3, and then across the filament to ground/other side of the battery. Any open/break/bad contacts and the workers can't get home, so no light.

Both of these circuits are in series, so everything has to work, or no light.

You are doing a great job!
