Okay so which way does the front sprocket nut come off????

After looking at everything I can find and not seeing anything indicating other than a normal thread, mine won't break loose turning left and it moves about the same amount each way before stopping. I don't want to twist anything off so I want to be sure. By the way the lock ring was installed someone has been in there before and maybe that's a thing.
I sprayed some PB Blaster on it before I quit in frustration...

Righty tighty, lefty loosey. It's normal for them to be stuck, if you have a helper you can have them sit on the bike and hold the rear brake while you use a cheater bar. Just be sure you don't lift the bike off of the stand, and when the nut lets go it will snap free.

It breaks loose to the left. I put a steel rod wrapped in a towel through my rear wheel and across the swingarm. Still had to use a breaker bar with a three foot long pipe on the end of it to break it loose. I was almost to the point to think it wouldn't happen, or my back was going to break first when it finally broke loose. It will break loose, just gas much leverage as possible. Good luck.

My mechanic had a tough time taking off original tires that were on my 2001 a few months ago, but a little force will get them off.

They come off much easier when you use an impact gun, electric or air power. Both work fine. They are a lot easier than muscle.

My impact is broke, but I've got plenty of muscle!

Either way it helps to know which way to go! lol
And that's a reminder to fix my impact - or buy a new one!
    Thanks guys!
After reading ALL the threads in chain and sprockets I'm looking to my new ones, though now I'm thinking I should have though about different gearing!

Ride to a friend's house that does have an impact or any local tire shop. Just ask them to break the nut loose and retighten for the ride home. You should be able to twist it off no problem yourself then.

I live in an apartment so an air compressor is not an option. My rechargeable Milwaukee 1/2 in. impact has never failed me though.

I also have an electric Black & Decker 1/2" drive impact gun. I forgot where I bought it, but when I did, it was a deal that I could not pass up.

Ya know what ya do when you have no friends?

Ya buy a compressor, 1/2" impact (or as mentioned electric version) and become responsible for your shit. ALTHOUGH ...... I have changed MANY with a Ken's stand handle and a block of wood with a few spare valve stems on hand.

Sometimes I don't know what to think... though it is rare!
For the record, I have: An air compressor, and electric impact (though broken at the moment, while I think about how I want to replace it), more tools than anyone I know, plenty of friends and access to any tool I want. All I needed was to be sure which way the bolt loosened so I could give it a good tug, because that's my specality, a good tug.

And of course, it came right off when turned in the correct direction. Problem solved. And just in time, the rear sproket had 2 broken teeth which I didn't see prior, the chain was stretched about 1/2" and even the OE steel front sproket was severly worn. Though I did order a jumbo chain tool because my Motion Pro, wasn't up to the 530 chain.
So I'm gratefull to get the needed info among all the 'ancillary' tidbits!
