Whoa, there’s actually a forum for them!

    https://www.fordpinto.com/index.php

I’m worried about signing up because I’m not sure I can handle it if anyone gets serious on me about Pinto’s. :

Better just keep it on the ZRXOA...

I just went and looked this one over for a buddy in Kansas, him and his son is gonna build the boy his first car and the kid wants a Pinto wagon!
It had way too much rust, he'd jump on yours!

Yes the u bolts on the cross muffler would puncture the
gas tank, they decided to pay claims vs recalling them all
and rotating the u bolts , crazy.

I had a buddy that had that motor in a Capri. He had put a cam and a set of side draft carbs on it and it made pretty good power

I had a '72 pinto, it was my first car. Hand-me-down from my Dad to my Sister to me, you can't convince me of anything when it comes to Pinto's, other than it is possible to put a V8 in them.

    On a happier note ....
I seem to remember someone making a kit that would fit a Ford 289 V-8 in those Pintos.
Chet Herbert made the kit. Forward looping headers, I drooled over that catalog and the Accel made turrbo kit. The cologne 2.0 was a beefy design with lots of potential. I had a shelby cam and Doug's header. Esslinger makes speed equipment for the 2.3. I don't think you want to go down that rabbit hole.

Re: AV80R’s 1980 Ford Pinto “Shaggin Wagon”

Ok, got the full story. A construction company in San Jose used yellow Pinto station wagons as their company cars from 1971-1985.

They were all squirreled away in a warehouse in Stockton.

My buddy sold 7 yellow wagons for $3500, then the next guy sold them for $5k to a SoCal buyer.

Then that guy sold the lot of 7 for $10k after just picking them up.

I got the history of where they ended up just from a post on Instagram. Small world!

The green one was used by the owners and the yellow one I got was nabbed by their grandson and taken to Tahoe before he got snuffed.

Here are some photos of the lot of 7 in the Stockton warehouse.
