injunís old bike (CA) - $5k

Anyone interested in a low mileage cream puff 2002 model? I havenít laid eyes on it, nor know the exact mileage but I can find out.

This is injunís old bike, and the new owner has only put 300 miles on it.

The bike is located in San Francisco. Hit me up and Iíll connect you to the owner if youíre interested.

Cream puff as an expression because itís not a typical rust bucket parked at the ocean coast.

Injun parked the bike indoors at his art studio. It didnít rust out like everything else on the street in San Francisco exposed to the salt fog.

Oh and the 7800 miles (12500 kms) is pretty low for a 17 year old bike!

Re: injunís old bike (CA) - $5k

Thanks everyone. Especially AV80R. I appreciate the help.

Just some context of why I'm sadly selling. It was an impulse purchase. I've always wanted a ZXR and when I saw the age and condition on injun's (at his art studio on Geary St) I was blown away. I bought it right there on the spot. If i remember correctly I haggled him just under $6k USD. I just don't ride much anymore. I was hoping to ... and at some point in the future I certainly will. As much as I try it's just not happening right now. I used to commute on a bike for 20+ years. I guess I'm just getting old. Also, my children live in Lake Tahoe with their mom ... I drive up pretty much every weekend and my Land Rover LR3 needs some service. I was going to use the proceeds of the bike sale to keep my truck road trip ready. I have 200k miles on her and given that I live in San Francisco i.e. not a friendly city to vehicles for a myriad of reasons ... I just keep my truck serviced as best I can instead of getting something new. I think a new truck would be a waste of $. At least for me. I also moved from a house to condo. So I don't have a personal workbench to service or make fixes/upgrades. So in the end, in my typical fashion I just didn't think the purchase all the way through ... from logistics to parking to usage. That being said I ponied up for a motorcycle spot in our complex ... she's ALWAYS been parked inside from day 1.

Cosmetically, the bike is in near perfect condition. She's never been laid down, dropped, or even parked next to another vehicle for all I can remember. After last Saturday's ride she has 8003 miles. I've put barely 400 miles on the bike since purchase. I park her in our garage in a steel wheel chok. Kick stand works perfect I just prefer this more secure method for the garage. There's a host of preventative maintenance and upgrades that injun performed on the bike. I'll go back into his ZRXOA threads to see if I can resurrect them. I have saddle and tank bags and some accessories to throw in ... including the wheel chok (it's pretty nice and works great). When I bought the bike injun told me she was ready to go to New York and back. I believe him and still do. Tires were vitually new when acquired the bike. So they have roughly 400 miles on them since purchase date (which was 11 months ago).

I'll attach a few more pictures and feel free to reach out and I will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.

Below are some more pictures. Feel free to comment, make fun of me, or coordinate a time to see the bike. It's all good! Thanks again!

Patrick, you should copy/paste your earlier post and snag all the pics on a new thread in the for sale section for better visibility.
