    ALMOST there

Was a member several years back and had every intention of picking up a nice ZRX1200 but things that eat $$$ got in the way so it was all put ON HOLD.

Now back again I'm looking for a "medium" priced 1200. Have seen prices ALL OVER the place and can guess that some sellers are extremely optimistic and some others very reasonably priced.

IF I am looking for a bike with under 30K miles, stock paintwork, some "enhancements" (read--possibly aftermarket exhaust , stainless lines, corbin / sargent seat etc) what should my budget be?? I DO realise that condition and modifications etc will affect price but a ballpark range would be appreciated information.

To possibly BLOW UP my previous statement would really prefer a Candy Lime Green bike. Price just went UP didn't it??

Thank you for allowing me back.

Oh yeah and I'm located in Flowery Branch Georgia (45 miles NE of Atlanta) so if you have a bike close by drop me a note to give me details etc.

    Thanks again,
    Ricardo

Haven't heard the name "Flowery Branch, Georgia" since the 70s. I worked with a guy in Jacksonville who moved to Hog Mountain Road up there. Why I remember that, I don't know.

Anyway, good luck with the search. You'll find one eventually.

Welcome back Ricardo. You’re doing the right thing following through on your original plan

    Re: ALMOST there

So, he asked what he should expect to pay for a ZRX worth having.

They vary widely from "project to pristine." If you want to end up with a really nice one, it's much cheaper to buy it that way. Trying to make a really nice one from a "project" is expensive and time consuming. If the project "just needs a tank and has a little knock", don't even start.

Everything is crazy expensive here, but 3 to 4,000 should get one in good condition. Might be less where you are.

    Good luck with your search!

    Are 0.25mm overbore pistons available?
