July 4th Ride up Mt. Washington Auto Road

    Hello All,

I received this gorgeous 2003 ZRX when my father passed in 2013. He purchased it new in 2004. After many years of running to the window to watch him ride into the driveway coming home from work, as well as many rides on the bike with him, he has since passed and the bike is now mine to tend to for life.

Fast forward a few years, I now live in New Hampshire and have brought the bike with me. 7000 miles on the clock.

This past July 4th I went for a solo ride into the White Mountains.

    Enjoy the photos.

Thank you all for your posts over the years that has allowed me to tend to this bike alone and keep her in the grand shape she is in today.

    -Kevin

Sorry about your dad. He sure had good taste with that blue ZRX. Must be special for you to ride it.

Sorry for the inverted photos. Unsure how to fix that.

It seems if you click into the pics, they return to normal orientation.

Big Harry will be along to fix that up for you. They look fine on my mobile device.

Thank you. It is extremely special to ride. Currently missing the riding season. Has me looking to move someplace else for a longer season!

    Nice bike!

I hear that winter is the best time to visit the weather station at the top of Mt. Washington.

To my knowledge, it is closed off to the public during the winter months.

But yes, the summit of Mount Washington is home to the most extreme winter weather ever recorded.

I stand corrected. Although I assume they stop tours during extreme weather.

Every year we used to ride an off road turkey run in NH/VT then take the enduro bikes up the mountain Monday morning on the way home. Scary as hell coming down never knew if the brakes would overheat. Beautiful veiw once you get above the tree line.

I see you caught the mountain on a clear day . hineykn's pictures are an exceptional day for on top, you don't see many days when the sky matches the blue bike.

That day was without a doubt the scariest ride of my life.

On the way down there was near zero visibility.

Thayer was in front of me, with Rose on the back of his bike and I could barely see his tail light from 3 feet away, and as you know dirt road, no guard rails and 1000' foot drops do not make for fun,
