    Out of order

It appears I am out of order: acquired a ZRX, joined the Forum, posted, participated... never did intro post.
Fine. Here it is. 51 years on motorcycle saddles, beginning with a Honda CB110 "Super Cub". BSA guy til converting to Kawasaki in June '77. Something approaching 3/4 million miles, an awful lot of that suburban-urban commuting. And "awful" is the correct adjective.
After the KZ650, KZ1000J, ZG1000, and ZX1100E, a ZRX finally found me. Actually the Missus found and wanted it enough to make the scratch, and I am luckily in the vicinity and willing to be collateral damage.
There were some other bikes besides, some Wings, a Norton and a variety of Triumphs (taking apart my ray-gun Trident fully informed me why Motorcycle Britannia went out of business), a Velocette, a couple of wobbly Airhead R100s, an FJ and FJR, and so forth.
Semi-obligatory photo. Please note I was not hired for my looks.

    Re: Out of order

Yes, I'm still sorting out what might have been modified.
When I first saw the bike- the seller was not the long term owner, he'd only had it a brief time- the good-condition Pilot Road 4s and full set of Galfer lines were most apparent. Good signs, to me.
The polished engine covers also jumped out. The Muzzy system is a negative for me, leaving as I do sometimes at 5:30am, and the pod filters are not something I'd do to a road bike that sees rain.
The rear tire accordingly collected an 1 1/2" trim nail off-center leaving a slow leak. That was quick.
I started a thread in Engines about the problems I have had with the grabby, snatchy clutch, but that appears to have been corrected. More test riding when work and weather permit.
The Forum has already been a great help and I'm grateful to all.

    IMHO
    - You can get a db Killer to kill some noise on the Muzzy
    - Many people around here have pods and have no problem riding in the rain.

    Re: Out of order

I had pods choke up on me once upon a time riding home from Downstate in a frog-strangler. Actually, more than once. It compromises my perception.
I did indeed install a db killer in the Muzzy. Not quiet enough for me, anyway. I'm of a stealth mind, I guess.

    Re: Out of order

Welcome. I'm always glad to see another 1100 rider join the forum. I've got a '99. And your strips are upside down

I've ridden mine for years with pods sometimes in some heavy downpours. Some of us have discovered that in crosswinds the bike would cut out some with pods and it can be corrected by just getting the vent tube out of the wind. I ran mine up under the seat.

    Re: Out of order

Wekoli has the correct stripe decals for your fairing if you want it to look more stock. Rain will not affect the functionality of the pods. You'll lose a good 15 hp if you remove that Muzzy header.
