You ever wake up to someone looking at you?

He's 14 points. Local poachers have him in their sights. Confronted a pair of them the other day about it. They're locals from Albuquerque that come up on the weekends. Asked them to please don't kill him. They said they were only "checking him out." Yeah, checking him out with bows in their SXS.

The locals take advantage of all the folks that have property here at Laguna Vista Estates in Rutheron, NM. People from all around the country from NYC to LA have small cabins or RV spots they come to in the Spring through Fall. Eveyone feeds the deer and turkeys. It's a gated place with no hunting on the property in the bylaws. When everyone like myself has winterized their places and gone home these local NM creeps come out. It's like shooting fish in a barrel because they come right up to you looking for food.

I have nothing against hunting or fishing, just poaching.

That's not hunting...that's killing. Though I'd like to have a wall hanger like that buck, I couldn't shoot him while he was just standing there looking at me expecting sustenance, not death.

That's the whole thing. It's not hunting. IDK how you could live with yourself killing something walking up to you. Nothing I can do about it but pack it up tomorrow and head home. Maybe see him next year. He sure is a good looking buck.

They got this guy last year.

yeah, I wouldn't want to wake, see it and shoot it either as a lone animal

that looks remote but too many suburban people that do not hunt feed animals and they are multiplying and their be free and stay away from me is becoming, it seems, hey - ya got and grub so I don't have to forage

I would kill it if near any roads with traffic - we had 13 deer in the back yard at one time this yr - we live 3 blocks from a 4 lane interstate suburban route

    - I wanted to call a few buddies and cull em

    - I almost hit a doe standing in the middle of a suburban side st 2 nights ago - froze in headlights - had to flash em - what if I were on the bike and I was a bit quicker and she jumped into me ? I sure would have felt chitty not getting a silent cross bow and removing them at a slow steady pace

This guy was hanging around our house a few years back. My wife showed a picture to her brother, and I told her she shouldn't have. She said "He wouldn't kill a deer on our property." I came home from work a couple of days later, and his truck was in our yard. He was hunting his property next door.

I wake up to this looking at me pretty regularly. No sound or whining, just staring at you two inches from your nose. A little freaky at first but used to it now.

I’m not sure if it’s going to grow any antlers but I don’t think so. Not allowed on the bed or any furniture, but this is ok.

The worse was waking up to a nurse urging me to take a sleeping pill.
    And damn proud of it.

    Got me a keeper!
