Hi , New member , new ZRX owner from Mendocino, Ca.

Greetings, Just bought a 2002 ZRX1200R Bought from the original owner $2700 , 24k miles , very clean, and some nice upgrades:
Full Akrapovic S.S. / carbon exhaust
Stage III with K&N filter on original airbox
    Fork brace
    Carbon front fender
    Smoke windscreen
    Aluminum radiator
    Frame sliders
    Corbin saddle
    Wavy rotors front & rear
    Braided brake and clutch lines
Brand new Shinko tires, sprockets, x-link chain
Every receipt for all repairs & services
    Factory manual
AND THEN THE BIG DOWNGRADE! The p.o. put on some low rise short bars which are really uncomfortable and hit the tank. I would like to replace them. i am wondering if any body can tell me what the specs are for the o.e.m. bars? All 5 measurements would be great. Thanks for the help and good to be here.

Renthal road medium is very close to stock. Nearly identical.

    The "Superbike" style bars work.

I suggest that you post your needs in the 'Parts Wanted' section.

welcome to the madhouse! (Hide your credit card!)

the Shinko's worry me w/the cold temps/fog on the coast. Drop the cold temps to the low thirties or high twenties so they will flex a bit & get some heat in them. Shinko specialists speak up. He's going to be riding in a lot of foggy/cool temp wx...

I'd also suggest the Greg Couch "bar-riser" kit makes the ZRX comfy...

Wow! Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes, and help with handlebar options. I'm sure I will have more questions soon. Thanks for this great resource.
Have a great weekend. These two will have to go to make room in the cave.

I have thousands of miles on that loop.

Just a bit of humor, in the late 70's was logging with my dad between Willits and F.B. and we fell a pretty good size redwood on the tracks for the skunk train....got it all cleared and called then to have the track inspected before allowing tourists to travel over the spot. It was all good to go.

The low bars are sometimes also straighter- meaning less pull back which can result in a more natural grip without having to turn the wrists out.
If you like the straight bars, some risers may be all you need.
Greg Couch (member marketplace) makes some nice ones- and many other nice things...
