Good tip, if you can't lock your tailgate.

Good tip, especially for people that park outside.. I keep mine in the garage, & the tailgate is locked at all times..

Check your PU truck tailgate closely. I'll bet you find that when the gate is open, you can lift up on the right side and remove the entire tailgate.

My 1993 Ford F150 is open the tailgate and lift off. It is a 15 second or less walk away.

That's a Mitsubishi Triton - much smaller than your typical US Truck.

Doesnt have the big flashy wheels anymore, got sick of swapping them out for the mud tyres every time I went camping or bush - running 33 inch muddies now.

Yeah, our Utes are a lot smaller than your Trucks - this one has a 3.2Lt Turbo Diesel in it. 750kg carrying and 3T towing.

We have small trucks, but the big power gas guzzler are more popular.

Guess I just missed the small ones when I was over and only saw the monstrous F Trucks and Rams etc. F350 Super Dutys were a dime a dozen in Vancouver!

My brother had his stolen a few years ago shortly after he bought his first ever pickup. Hard lesson learned. He now knows to keep the tailgate locked. I keep mine locked for that very reason as well.

My heart skipped this morning when I came out to the truck to go to work and the tail gate was missing. Forgot that I took it off when we pulled some shrubs out and never put it back on.

    Oops.

I worked for Ford building Ranger trucks. Lots of new Ford trucks in the lot. Our parking lot regularly had tailgates stolen even with security cameras.

There is no pic of the security trick in my version posted.

We live in a rural community we're break-ins and petty theft has been running high lately. Definitely scared me for a second after having watch this a day before.
