Hello ! New Member from Ontario Canada

Hi everyone, first post here and bought my very first Kawasaki about 6 - 8 weeks ago, a nice 2000 ZRX1100. Even though I've been into bikes for years, I've never owned a Kawi until now, so Im looking forward to enjoying it.

Its a largely stock bike with the exception of upgraded front fork springs and a Hindle pipe (i have all the original parts too). I recently learned about the starter/alternator tensioner issue and I've just installed a Kwik Tension Tamer to deal with that.

Im located in Near North, Ontario, Canada, so my biking window is short due to our severe & long snowy winters.

Im a bit of a bike collector (my wife would say "addict"), i spend alot of my leisure time restoring old bikes for my collection (14 in the fleet at this point).

When winter hits hard up here, I put the bikes away and turn to snowmobiles for fun.

    Thanks for having me here

Here is a picture of my Rex

Welcome to the family. When you get time perhaps you’d share some pics of your fleet?

Yea, im strictly a groomed trail rider, and my sled is a model thats more suited to that type of riding, fast as hell but on flat packed trails. Im too old and unskilled to ride like my son. His sled is specifically for off trail and deep snow riding.

Welcome to the best Forum for bikes and best place to help you empty the wallet at the same time. Nice bike collection. I am addicted to ZRX bikes with 5 in garage and looking to get one for my oldest son soon if all goes well. I do like the 1100 bikes with two black ones at this time. With ZRX bikes already classics you made a good investment as the value is starting to go up on some of them instead of down more like some bikes.

Hello from Winnipeg! Nice collection of bikes and sleds. I had a 500 Interceptor back when I was younger in about 87 or so. Loved that bike!

I'm getting grilled currently for buying a second ZRX! I need you to get your significant other to explain why it's required to my significant other!

Critical Mass is what your have to aim for, once you get past a certain number of bikes, they can no longer tell if you've added one (especially if you decide to go all green). You sell one now and again just to give the illusion that its one out and one in

Seriously though, my wife is all good with it. She knows I work hard and this is my outlet and passion. I used to collect vintage muscle sleds (snowmobiles), I had over 20. I sold them all off a few years ago and made a very good profit. I bought them well, restored them and sold them to folks in the USA when the exchange rate was very favourable and values were high. Its an easy situation with my wife when the hobby is self funding

I have taken the stance buy first and try not to ask for forgiveness as they take that as a weakness and really pounce on you. May have number 6 soon and if my oldest can swing it he will purchase next year from me. Time to buy is when you see a good one at that right price.

Thank you. Its the second floor of my garage (40x26'). I built it into a hill so I can ride the bikes around back and through the double doors. 4 cars down stairs and lots of bikes upstairs. After yeas of looking at studs and insulation I just finished the walls in steel and painted the floor in 2 art epoxy

photo just after we finished building it about 8 yrs ago:

    Bike entrance at the back:

I have a second garage too (36'x72'), keep some other toys and my farm equipment in there.
