Is it to late for Harley? I'm digging it

As long as its not too heavy, could be nice. Water cooled 975 off the VRod/X architecture could be a runner.

I had the pleasure of riding a V-Rod Sport. One year model, raised rear(killed some of the stupid rake) and foot pegs where they should be. Great machine. Great engine. Porsche did a great job improving the old VR engine. Of course they essentially cleaned the slate and started over.

I was in my son's Ducati/Aprilia/Yamaha/Can Am/Vespa/Moto Guzzi shop Wednesday just saying Hi, and there was a guy talking to my son about the new Harley ADV, and I said "I've seen pictures and it is SUPER ugly" he answered that he loved the looks of it. Then he rode out on a new Guzzi California.

the new models for 2020 seem a nice direction for a USA (mostly) motorcycle Co.

The 1250 sporty is sweet imho - the off road v-twin seems power and price competitive - good for shareholders and good for consumers that want to buy American

Yammy has their own version of the Dyna WG - the WG died , it no longer is a bigger sporty but a softail with more rake

imho - HD is trying to sell a better engine, better suspension and a better selection of bikes - good for them

seems gone are the days that they sold a good something to make better by replacing every bolt on product and tweak the engine !

H-D had to come out with something new...........their biggest clientel, Baby Boomers, were dieing off along with sales. If the new H-D products are not up to par with the Jap/Brit/Italian stuff, who will buy them......??? The new generation of kids (20-30 yr olds) are growing up with all kinds of foreign techno stuff. The "lure" of American Made won't bring them into the showrooms as it did in the 1970's ......similar example would be Muscle Cars vs tiny jap cars. One problem tho, is ALL bike sales seem to be going down......not just H-D.

New motorcycle retail sales (all brands) are collectively HALF what they were in 2008. HALF.

Obviously sales rocketed up in 2001 and plummeted after 2005...coincidence ?

And 2008 was a really good year. It was so good in fact, that Suzuki completely skipped importing to the US the following year.

As much as I hate for any domestic company to go under, with their dated business and motorcycle models and they've pissed off the orange Kahuna, it looks like HD is heading for the scrap heap.

They won't be able to get any rescue money from anywhere. They won't diversify their lineup to attract new customers. They want to move to other countries to manufacture, but those countries are in bad financial troubles.

As many times as HD has been in trouble and saved by another company or a federal loan, you would have thought they would learn.
