    PROTOTYPE single seat tail

Well I made this prototype off a single seat tail , getting some measeruments from you guys on the forum.....
As you will see , I putted in a few more curves at the top and near the seat to give it more slickness and better flow around the seat .
Not just another chopped oem tail...
    thel me what you think
    I t is a prototype , needs some fine tuning ....
I still have to figure out a way to get the thing easely mounted on my frame (wich will have to be chopped...)
Then I can start making the mold and make some more in polyester or carbon IF anyone is interested...
I am also thinking that the underside wil have some sort of a invisible hinge and closeded with two dzus fastners near the plate holder , so you can open it up
and easely acces the electrics and have loads of storage space...
    cheers
    Peter

Normally I am no fan of single seater setups for the Rex, but your prototype looks more than promising, Peter. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

Just not nice when you're in an office building with insufficient air conditioning.

Peter, are you planning on making more?

I like what you've done and have huge admiration for your efforts.

Going forward on the potential numbers, I would ask the forum membership, how many would be prepared to cut/chop their sub-frame to accommodate this design. That way you'd have a better idea of the number of serious takers.

    Only my suggestion.

Ah I just read in the 1st post that the tail will have to be chopped.
I thought this was the one that would not require chopping.
    Who was that then?
    Thanks for the heads-up, John!!

    Hello John
First off all , I do one for myself.....
I looked at my options on the market , and the only one I could take my hands on (that looked good), was the compton one.....(and I had a inquiry with a member that also made a prototype , but the deal did not go thru in the end..)
So this would set me back nearly 1000 dollars with shipping and taxes and customs fee's....
AND it had no room for a plate holder as it is mainly a racer's tail..
So , making one for myself saves me A LOT off money..but still have to stick in my work and materials offcourse..
But to make one , one needs a mold...wich would be a shame offcourse for just one piece that's true...
so we see how it flows , ZRX owners have however the choise with me to order a handlayed lightweight polyester one , at a fraction off the cost off a carbon one...
    cheers
    Peter

I liked the larger plate holder as it offered me a potential spot to mount my turn signals, assuming i could drill through it. Just my .02. It looks great!

    Hy Casper
I plan a turnsignals intergrated taillight...so for my needs it's got to be as slick as possible , but If somebody needs to have the turn signals under the taillight , I can always supply a carbon
signal/plate holder that you mount on the shark fin...you will bearly notice the holder...
    thanx for the .02..
    cheers
