Need some advice on 2008 Concours

I have the opportunity to pick up a 2008 Concours for a decent price. Still have the ZRX and the VMax, but was looking for something to extend the seasons and possibly commute with, when I have extra gear to bring to work. Any of you guys own an '08, hear of or feel the heat issues or have any other issues or reasons not to make the purchase?

All in, I will likely have less than $3k into it. It has 32k on the clock and looks pretty clean. Leaning towards the purchase but curious what others have to say....

The C14's are nice bikes. They handle way better than they should once above parking lot speed. They are a little tall and heavy depending on your size.
The engine is silky smooth and strong, pretty much bullet proof too. Valve adjustments are straight forward once all the plastic is removed.
The 08's and '09's do put out some engine heat on the lower right leg but was never an issue for me. Depending where you live may cause issues.
The oem front rotors sometimes are finicky and warp like the ZX14 since they are the same. They do supply good braking though when straight & true.
The tire pressure monitoring system has batteries that need to be replaced but it's a nice, helpful system.
Overall, a gem of a bike especially at that kind of price.

I sold my Rex and bought an Ď08 Connie. I have zero complaints, and the previous comments are spot on. I havenít had the heat issue, even when doing an all day ride in August in TX. The only regret I have is that I didnít get a green one. Iíll prolly paint this one after a while.

Thanks for the comments guys. I rode the bike this afternoon and ended up making the purchase. All in, I am onto the Connie for about $2,700. Here are a couple pictures as it sits in my garage.

Re: Need some advice on 2008 Concours

Nice! Yes, the C14 is somewhat top-heavy but the ZRX is every bit as top-heavy IMHO. The C14's will generally run forever. Serious problems are very rare. Biggest issue is the exhaust cam position sensor, on the front side of the valve cover, tends to seep oil and dirty up the front side of the engine. Easy fix with an oversized o-ring from Murph's Kits.

Keep an eye on your clutch fluid reservoir. The fluid tends to pick up crud and that will, over time, gunk up the clutch master and slave. I flush mine, as well as the brake lines, ever time I change the oil.
