    I went "light weight".

The wife was wanting to move up from her GS500 and went to look at the Ninja 400. The Kawi store had 2017 Z650s on sale for the same price at the 400. No brainer. I used to have a Ninja 650 and loved it.
The big mistake was I rode it from the dealership. 60 lbs lighter than the previous Ninja 650. I liked it so I got one.
I always liked that motor and now in a far better chassis i'm jonsin for riding weather for some long trips!

I'm old. I've had several big bore bikes. I try to do at least a track day a year.
I don't need to say "mine is bigger than yours" and woud rather go well than go fast.
There's a local street club here that I rode with a time o two and usually ride near the rear of the pack. During track day I blew past the "leader" of the club. In the pits he asked why so slow on the street. I love passing high dollar bikes at track day on my inferior bikes.
I love out shooting guys with expensive rifles with my "budget" guns, same with my bikes.
Back on subject, having had the first Gen of the Ninja 650 I am amazed at the refinement of the new models and can't wait to get some miles on it. I'm quite confident it will put a dumb grin under my helmet.

With 50-60 HP (depends on the weather!) on a 22 year old motorcycle, I've embarrassed quite a few brand new 200+ HP liter bikes on the street.

I like the little bikes a lot!

A couple track days ago I was riding the boss's ZX6. Kind of fun being old and passing youngsters on their "red" bikes.

Yeah, long straights don’t lend well to little bikes.

Sears Point is the antithesis to Willow Springs.

Got back last week from putting in 3390 miles on the Z650. Did splendid. Most certainly fun in the mountain passes in Montana/Wyoming.
Couldn't hang with the big bikes on the straight stretches but what a hoot in the twisties.
