    Lets hear it for Shelby

My older brother has something special that I could never afford...

So I put together this V6 with some Shelby takeoffs. They take stock GTs and pull the wheels, brakes rears and axles and build the 350's . I started with a base V6 with a manual trans. Replaced the wheels, brakes and rear with Shelby take offs all from evilbay.Bought a Borla S-type cat back exhaust, MPT tune,Airaid CAI and Ford Racing Performance Street Pack suspension all before I had 1000 miles on it. About 300 HP to the wheels and much better than my 2000 GT. It's the SV650 of Mustangs...

One of the best aspects of the Stang is its ability to be modded! We've got entire communities and forums dedicated to it and us Stang owners can't ever seem to be done w/modding our rides. Nice job on yours!

I'm on Stang # 7, all since '88 when I was converted from Camaros. My cars primarily get bolt-ons (CAI tune, exhaust, lowering springs, cross drilled/slotted rotors) and cosmetic stuff (like aftermarket wheels & such frippery.)

Re: Lets hear it for Shelby

The talk on the web is the next GT500 is going to cost close to 100 Grand . I'm all in for about 28. My though is I would rather have a slower car I can drive fast than one I can hardly control. With the V6 no longer in production, in a couple of years, the price of the Procharger supercharger for the V6 will come down from the current 6K level to something I might consider...

The new Bullit looks nice but since it's a limited production car, it will be crazy expensive, especially over here.
Our (read European) 'Mustang' is an Audi S5, or A5 with the V6 Turbo. They can be tuned (relatively) inexpensively to 500+hp.

Let me clarify this- I'm always behind Dennis...

    EXCEPT when we're driving.

Curt- prices on superchargers are relatively stable. I wouldn't expect them to come down much, unless you go used. I'm betting a Procharger is your best bet for the V6.

Re: Lets hear it for Shelby

The new GT500 will, no doubt, be overpriced but what do you expect out of a 700+ HP supercar? I'm guessing a starting price around $75-80g's.

As for the Bullitt, Ford has not announced production #'s yet & it has been assumed by many in the Stang world that they will produce as many as they can sell this time, unlike in prior Bullitt releases.

I also would not be surprised to see the engine performance mods that are coming w/the Bullitt to become standard on the '19 or 20 GT version.

I'd like to have that Ecoboost in my 2500# Maverick.

Another cool thing about Curt's brothers Shelby. It's NightMist Blue, the same color as Jim Morrison's 67 GT500 "Blue Lady."

Curt, is the car a 428 PI or a Side Oiler? If it's a PI I bet your V6 will give it a serious run for it's money with 300 RWHP.
