    I saw him in lots of races in the late 70s and early 80s. He was always one of my favorites.

    After getting beat in the finals in Atlanta one year Mr. Glidden was tearing down and packing up when a couple approached him with their handicapped child. Bob sat on the ground for a picture with the young boy and wiped the child's face off where he had drooled and combed his hair over so the photo would be good.
    Ever since that day I was a huge fan.

    He was a mechanical genius and great guy.
