Re: Who is going for the new Z900RS?

Friend of mine has a Z900RS Cafe. He's only had it a couple months. He just got his new full exhaust on. He kinda hated to void his warranty, but he just couldn't wait.

He's been talking back and forth with Ivan. I think Ivan has been working on a flash for over a year. He should be getting his ECU back from Ivan this afternoon. He's more excited than a kid on Christmas morning.

He said that he thinks he will be able to leave my ZRX. I told him I would hold back. I don't want to bust his bubble.

The smoothness is one of the things that I love about the 900. They don't seem to have any vibration at all.

While my 900 is smooth, the 1000 in my Versys is a little smoother (rubber engine mounts) and has more power, but the handling on the RS is better

Z900RS is about 70 lbs less than a ZRX... it will probably be closer than you think (racing the 2 of them)
Assuming both riders are the same weight.

In case some of you haven't seen my page for the RS:

I'm curious since I haven't ridden the Cafe model....

Has anyone ridden both the standard RS and the Cafe?
    Differences?

Re: Who is going for the new Z900RS?

Yep, they are close, at least mine were.
After I got mine back from Brock I wanted to find out so both of my sons who are good racers and weigh within 10 pounds of each other helped me.
They ran from second gear to help eliminate wheelies, they ran three times then swapped bikes and ran three more times. Probably from 40 to 140 or so with the same results all six times.
The RS immediately jumped out in front a couple bike lengths but by high gear the ZRX reeled the RS in and began to pull ahead when they ran out of road.
My RS was Brock's mule so it's tuned as good as it gets, it also has his Meg pipe, Power Commander, flashed ECU and individual pods plus carbon fiber wheels.
My '02 1200 has a Brock's Meg, jet kit & pods along with a timing advancer.
My out-take is the RS is quicker but the 1200 is faster given enough road.
    YMMV,
