    Kawasaki Generations. Can't beat them. 1992 v 2007. Doesn't look like there's 15 years between them.
Dragged the Zeph out of hibernation to do the carb strip-down and sonic clean prior to the Factory Pro Jet Kit install and pod filter fit. Really looking forward to this one running as smooth as the ZRX. Hoping the kit sorts out the carbs but I'm thinking the Zeph carbs are a little more temperamental than the ZRX, plus it's aircooled, so there's the heat differential between outer and inner pots. We'll see eh.

Re: What did you do to your OTHER BIKE today?

    Looking good!

IMO, if you want smoooooth, set the float levels wet, and insist that they all be exactly the same. A good sync and you're off to the races.

If you measure the float levels wet before you take it apart, you can correct them. If one is 2 mm down wet, raise it 2 mm at the float, when you have the bowl off.

I put the carb set lightly in the vice with rubber jaws, put a level on top of the covers, and put the fuel container nearby at the same level the bike tank would be relative to the carbs. If the fuel is higher or lower than it will be on the bike, it will change the float level slightly.
You'll never know how fast you can go, until you go too fast.

Re: What did you do to your OTHER BIKE today?

Well, it's not really my "other" bike since I don't have my ZRX any more. Twas time to put the beast into hibernation for the winter . I would have done it earlier but I've been working crazy hours for the last couple months. Fresh gas and stabil run through the fuel system, oil change with Kawi synthetic 10x40 & filter, adjusted the chain, and a good top to bottom cleaning with Honda spray polish. Then up on stands and under cover. 3 more months . . . . Might end up out there occasionally making vroom vroom noises.

Re: What did you do to your OTHER BIKE today?

Depends on the weather as it can still snow that time of year up here. I have the 6th through the 21st off. I could be there as early as Monday night and as late as Thursday night. I'm planning on taking 3 days to ride down (not going straight, going to avoid Illinois and ride west across northern Arkansas). If I see an interesting road I'm going to ride it!

I have a hotel room booked in Buda, TX from Wednesday night through Monday night. I also have a camping spot at the track. I may stay at the track Saturday night (unless it's raining) so I'm there bright and early Sunday morning and avoid the traffic.

I want to ride the Hill country down there's. If I get in before Thursday I'll ride them before the race, otherwise on Monday on the way out.

Re: What did you do to your OTHER BIKE today?

Last Sunday I got my KZ650 out to do some test hit's and play with ign. kill time in the auto shift box to see just how short I could set it
    and still make clean shift's.
last test hit launched real hard spun the tire bad in first about 30 feet out it made the 1-2 shift tire spun tire again rear end
stepped out to the right real quick and before I could react and catch it tire bit high sided and body slammed me on the ground.
Bike has a little rash on the end of the megaphone and some on the collector and bar's bent and some rash on the brake master.

Me 7 broke rib's on my right side and a new Ti. collar bone. All this happened at about 25-30 mph.

Thanks guy's Ill heal up just fine but if you have ever broke some rib's you know it's a long painful recovery deal.
This does mess up my race plan's for this year as I had been planning on running the full Summit series point race's and run for point's.

Re: What did you do to your OTHER BIKE today?

Chris one rib did poke a small hole in the lung cavity but not the lung so they kept me in the hospital a few day's to watch that.
As for the suture they cut it like that to install my new light weight Ti. collar bone.

Re: What did you do to your OTHER BIKE today?

Changed the shocks on the workhorse... bit more work than normal forks..... The rear dumped the oil so decided to do both and change them for wilbers WESA units

this is about the point where you can attempt to get the fron shock out. The ESA cage is an absolute barsteward and a proper design flaw by BMW (they make quite a few actually)

changed the oil seal while I was waiting for the new shocks

buttoned everything back up, was good to get things cleaned up as well, amazing how much crap and corrosion you get in a bike as complex as this. also got a new seat in!

suspension is way nicer now, firmer but more comfy at the same time. Just floats over bad road surfaces!

it actually takes more than 36 liters... that's the most I ever put in it. and I think it still had a bit in it. I think the plastic deforms over time increasing the volume inside. makes the fuel economy on the display a bit inaccurate
