So, considering everything that you learned, how do you think that you'll do next time? Too bad the weather had to end the event early.

The weather didn't end the event early. The clock continued to run, and a few participants continued their efforts in the rain. It certainly ended the event for me though!

If I were to really take this kind of thing seriously, I would need to do more physical training for increased stamina. I've been slacking quite a bit lately in that regard.

Oh, and I would use a Camelback for on the fly hydration.

Ok Mr. Literal. I think you know what I meant. It effectively ended it for most, for the same reason that it did for you. Do you think you would have finished up front (not necessarily the winner) had it not rained?

I might have been able to finish 3rd, but really can't say with any level of certainty. I may have only had just one more lap in me. The guys I found myself competing against were definitely in better shape.

Don't know. When I left there were 3 or 4 guys that had completed 10 laps and 2 or 3 of those guys were headed out to try and get in another one. Looks like two of those guys ended up getting in two more, which simply blows my mind. I would guess I probably ended up 5th or just outside of that. Never saw the final tally sheet, so just a guess based on how many guys were left standing when I left.

On a different note, my license plate jumped ship somewhere along the way. I went back out yesterday and walked the trail to try and find it. I was cracking up at all the bits and pieces of motorcycle parts and bodywork I was finding scattered along the trail.

TG that place eats bikes, my hats off to all the guys that did this event. 9 laps is brutal there and the guys that did 10,11 &12 well they must be in some serious shape and a touch mentally unstable. Its basically a outdoor endurocross that is 6 miles per lap and all limestone ledges and cedar trees

    "Play by Play"

    After 6 laps:
    Dave 11:32
    Chris F 11:33
    Dwayne 11:38
    JT. 11:41
    David 11:41
    Carl 12:02

    After 9 laps:
    Dave 12:57
    Dwayne 1:00
    Carl 1:35
    Chris. 1:36
    David 1:40
    JT 2:03

So that's with a 5 minute break after 3 laps, and about a 10 minute break after 6. And my ass handed to me at 9.

Sorry, but that's not how endurance racing works. You retain credit for laps completed.

Rankings are based on laps completed within a set time frame. That's it.

No rain! Very happy about that.

    We had 13 participants. 1st completed 15 laps (91.2 miles); 2nd completed 13; 3rd completed 12; 4th & 5th completed 11. 4 of the 13 lasted the full 6 hours.

5th place dude placed 1st last time, but had to drop out due to completely shredded hands. Painful to even look at. I truly donít know how he managed to complete 11 laps. City Park is brutal!

Starting line. Iím on the right, handling starting duties to send everyone off exactly when the clock hit 9am.
