Just behind the right rad shroud and upper coolant hose. Lower ones are below the engine at the other end of the frame member. Uppers can be seen but not easy to reach without removing the shroud.

Re: Check Your Frame Rail Bolts!!

Sorry for the bump but I'm going to install my top two (currently missing) bolts when they get here tomorrow. Do I have to remove the upper rad hose to get to them or can I simply undo the rad cover on the right side and slide it out of the way?

If memory serves, yes you can just move the cover out of the way.

    Thanks for the pic

Have to check mine when I get back from my current work gig out of state but my bike is black so I'm pretty confident

I've heard so many times over the years for folks to check the frame rail bolts, so we did on his.

The bottom bolt of the top pair was missing. It is under the rad shroud, so not readily visible. One is on the way now!

Thanks everyone who has suggested this in the past.

    Check those bolts!!

where can these be obtained? I mean the MamaKaw ones? I'll buy non- MamaKaw if I have to. I'm missing the same one- lower bolt of upper frame rail set. I looked on a major part supplier website and they don't even show the part. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong area for it? I wanted to install a bolt when I have my radiator flushed in the Spring perhaps

You're looking in the wrong area for it. It's on the next slide. Part No. 92150.

You might also be able to source a comparable bolt from a bolt supplier, if you have one in your area.

Nice. That one has a part # too and is only a few bucks if you prefer MamaKaw

Also check torque on your swing arm pivot bolt. It has been known to loosen as well.

Are there other areas that need looking at? Like a fastner tune up or look over?

Steering stem bearings need replaced from time to time, and worn bearings can be the cause of "odd" handling characteristics.

The old trick of placing two sheets of wax paper on the floor so the front tire can be easily rotated side to side under load can easily ID "tight" spots. Or of course the standard method of lifting the front wheel and push/pulling the fork legs forward and back to check for play of any sort IDs if the bearings are loose, which also can be the cause of odd handling.

I think they are 10x30 1.5 as apposed to the standard 1.25 .... wanted some in SS but only available from ARP at $5 ea. 3 of them are close to 10x20 1.5 just one closest the footpeg needs to be 30mm long.

    ...Yep they are M10x1.25...

I know the stock OEM ones are 30mm long however in my opinion they protrude excessively at the rear (one marginally less so than the other three) and I replaced all mine with 25mm M10x1.25 Stainless Steel.

Personal preference on my part though...(in any case however they are a pretty easy to buy bolt whichever you choose...)

And PRESTO--top two bolts are missing. Parked her and jumped on the FJR to work today until I have time to run down to the local ACE and pick up a pair of bolts... M10, 30mm, 1.25 pitch...

I couldn't find any 1.25p M10 bolts anywhere....inquired at every fastener shop in the city.
    1.5p no problemo......1.25p no bueno

    Had to order Kawi bolts.

Both my top right bolts had jumped ship.
The frame rail had drooped down about 1/2in.....enough that when I checked my motor mount bolts the right side longings were both slightly bent...prolly from takin an extra load.

All squared away now....replaced all my motor mount bolts with new 10.9grade
And blue locktited the snot outa the upper frame rail bolts
