You've got another convert. I swear the wheel spun significantly easier with the ACF-50! Cleaning the chain wax I was using off was a pita. Pulled the sprocket cover and cleaned completely in there too. My bike is spotless right now. Mmmmm, I'm in my happy place

The 4 liter jug is the most economical but I always end up buying a small spray can too for convenience.

I'm probably over thinking the chain lube thing. I no longer have a chain driven street bike.

All I have left are two of these. They really don't go fast enough to throw off any lube. But, they do drip a bit when the chain gets warm.

currently sorting out a 350, going to try out the acf on the primary chain. Why? About a third of the primary chain is under the gasketed crankcase cover

Re: How do you keep your chain lubed and clean is it possible?

Of traditional lubes, Honda HP “white graphite” is the best I have used when it comes to no fling and good mileage between lightly damp kerosene rag wipe down/re-applying. After application the chain rolls very smooth and not much less when getting ready to wipe/re-apply, but there is some resistance. 300-400 mile intervals for the past 2,000+ miles since I started using it, no signs of needing re-application at that interval but it’s probably about right. However that’s the time to do it, before it needs it.

The EK ZVX2 has over 30,000 miles now. Mostly Maxima Chain wax spray in the beginning, Motul chain paste the past few years, but they would fling some. This does leave a dull finish to the sprocket/rollers but does not coat the side plates with grunge if sprayed on appropriately.

I get caught out in the rain here in Colorado on long day rides, no way to avoid it going from the front range to the western slope and north/south as well. This stuff has done a great job at staying on.

How well does the ACF-50 do with repelling rain? Still feeling like I could take the plunge... just a bit more coercion...

Started using this stuff about 5yrs ago when I bought the green bike and had to start dickin around with chains again. Seems to be very similar to Arash stuff. And, I'm a firm believer in the mil-spec certification and process.

It will stay clean, and it needs to be reapplied every 5 or 600 hundred miles, it's very unforgiving if you forget, like me who commutes on the bike everyday.

Re: How do you keep your chain lubed and clean is it possible?

Used Maxima for years on the ZRX + Ninja, always lived with the mess. Bought the Z900 a couple months ago and tried the Dupont chain wax w/ teflon being a brand new chain.
Just over 900 miles on it and there's no signs of fling, quick sprayed it twice.
Cleaned the ZRX chain for 1/2 hour with grunge brush + kerosene, the Dupont spray is thin and goes on clear so I hit it again few hours later (doesn't have to be warm). Same results.

    Adios Maxima.....

How do you keep your chain lubed and clean is it possible?

If it's good enough for the US NAVY to arrest and prevent corrosion on aircraft at sea, it's good enough for me and my humble little airplane and everything else I own.

I'm pretty sure I hammer my chain & sprockets more in 90 miles of mountain canyon riding than some people do touring on the highway for 500 miles.

ACF-50 has worked flawlessly for decades during my constant equipment abuse.

Give it a shot. It's very hydrophobic and works very well in wet environments.
