Re: Im lost. ZRX1200R or S or ZZR1200?

I was looking at similar bikes when I was looking. Have you considered a first generation Yamaha FZ1? Heresy, I know. But it's a liquid cooled engine with a bit larger fairing, comfortable ergos, and if you hit it just right, you can find one in that awesome bumblebee paint scheme. That was 2003 or 2004.

The first generation FZ-1 would be my first choice, bumblebee paint is gay though.

Did the ZRXOA just convince a new member to purchase a ZZR1200?

This group HAS mellowed in their old age.

Have to go against the grain here. Had a ZZR1200 from new for five years then traded for ZRX. Hated it. Big heavy average handling, poorly made bike. ZZR1100 I had previous was a much better bike with the exception of forks/brakes. 30000km in 5 years. I have done 63000km on my ZRX in 7 years now with no plans to part with it, and 30000km on my second ZRX in 18months. Both R models. Big thing that bugged me with ZRX was lack of centrestand, but fixed that. ZRX is considerably more fun to ride, albeit a little slower than ZZR, but that can be fixed.

After a 6000 mile trip and days of neck cramping, I thought this would be the case. So much so that I traded my fairing and TV headlight for a dual headlight setup. After doing 500 miles this weekend, I can tell you, It's not. While the bikini fairing focuses the wind at my helmet and wears out my neck, not having the fairing makes the wind try to lift my helmet off. I've had two other naked bikes, an SV650 naked and a FZ1 I converted to Speed Triple headlights (no mini fairings), and they didn't do that. but on the ZRX, without the fairing it very much tries to lift me off the bike by my helmet.
