    CHEAP Chinese Radiators? Interested?

I've found a great price on Chinese Radiators.

    BUT:

They are Chinese and the quality will be the same as all that are out there already. There are plenty that have gone bad, some the first day, others have lasted longer before failure.

    The question is:

If the price is cheap enough, say $75.00, would you be interested in buying a cheap radiator with Zero Warranty? ...and, I mean ZERO
Or, you could buy one with ONE free replacement radiator....shipped with the first....for say $125.00?

I'm waiting on the price quote for the shipping to arrive at the final pricing.

The advantage is I will have them in stock, rather than 2-4 week transit time from China. Most of you guys split a radiator and need a replacement yesterday, so there is a market for quickly available radiators.

Anyway, just throwing it at the wall and seeing if it sticks.
    Thanks for visiting...

I think its just that people need a radiator fast and cant spend big money for one so they are forced to by chinese , If you had a lower priced model in stock ready to go ( even without a warranty ) they would buy from you hands down ... My 2c

I see them on eBay in the low 90's shipping from the USA.

I'm pretty sure I could push back on the seller if I got a defective one, so if I needed one I'd probably choose paying the extra $17 for a no DOA warranty.

Your 2 for $125 idea might be attractive to me, but only after it's established that your defectives count is really low.

As always, best wishes for good luck with your idea.

The riding season is too short.

My time is to valuable. Would rather spend it with my family or riding.

I perfer to buy 'merican than Chinese.

I can save up 125 in a few weeks by not going out to lunch.

I'll get a free Kit Kat two days after I order my new radiator.

Someone will answer the phone for customer support.

Honestly Pete, ya got me on the fence with this one.

Mine stock rad hasn't leaked yet but when it does I'll have one on the shelf....

Is there any way of testing these for faults? Pressure or visual inspection?

They pressure test just fine when new.
It's later that you may, or may not, have an issue.

I, and Kawasaki, both make better quality radiators:

But, they are about 10 times more expensive.
There is nothing in between, China radiators all have about the same failure rate.

how can it fail at least as often as the oem style one when it is not made paper thin like the oem and the oem style one?

the tubes, the end plates, the end tanks are all thicker, it weighs a pound more than a stock Kawasaki radiator!

I already know the weak areas, that is why I didn't go with a new kawasaki or cheap knock off of a kawasaki radiator.
I went with the knock off of the radiator that addresses the weakness of the stock one the best.
Well best would be the zx7r radiator.

Cosmetics beat out functionality when it came to the cooling department, look at every other model that uses a variation of this engine and they have bigger radiators and oil coolers.

The zrx radiator is small and has poor air flow through it.

Is there a common failure point that could be reinforced ? Would a better mounting method reduce the problems ? I'd love to go the top end route but can't justify the $.

On top down on the end mainly on the right side but some also fail on the left.
How they mount contributes to it but also the thinness of the metal and the fact it is on the small side and the restricted flow that is done to keep from cooking riders.
In cooler climates the thermal stresses are less and they tend to last longer.

No stress issues to mine, been in the stock shroud mounts since 2000 it was the rock that punched a tube thrown up by another bike on a fresh chip sealed road that got me, my JB weld patch has held for 4 years now but I think about it when riding and know one day it will fail.

The radiator on my SV1kn had the same patch at it let go after two years.
The new replacement radiator lasted two months before a pickup knocked it out the left side.

Mine has been holding up since May, and have put close to 2,000 miles of trouble free riding...with no leaks. I think I paid $90 for it off Ebay.
