Is anyone on the board making any type of case saver that would mount directly to the stater and clutch covers?
Been wanting to build some and want to make sure I am not stepping on anyone's toes.

Greg Couch was trying but to cost prohibitive at the time . I have 1 of only 3 prototypes made .![]()

Slider is Champs . Stator cover is Greg's .have seen them from Japan for the milled clutch cover but not a stock cover .

Do it and you'll have competition using a delrin and alimeeeenumb replacement piece.
They do them in the Euro-Japanese markets if memory serves me correctly.

Phase alloy makes them - there was a group buy a few years ago - aluminum mount long bolt/spacer using existing cover mounting holes with a plastic slider
Agras has done some using only delrin - kind of a semi circle that followed the shape of the cover and longer bolts to use stock cover mounting points
K-Factory has some that are built into replacement covers
You could say I have reviewed different options.
I'd be concerned about the cases if they took a hard knock ?

Funny you mentioned this as I was talking to a fellow Rexer last night and telling him I didn't want to build a part that was suppose to protect the cases, but because someone took a hard hit those little m6 x 1.0 screws would bust the threads out and now said person is up shit creek and needs an engine.
"Proven", Renntec engine guards for me.
Good luck with your endeavor, build on.![]()

It's up to the owner to understand and take the risk. A member here has said maaaaaany times over how "sliders" are actually a cause of more damage than they save .... YET ..... experiance has shown that those instances are more rare than a mint S1 but are remembered because they are memorable.

I think this would be the most ideal....I just so happen to have one too

The old school case savers that clamp on the bottom frame rail would have some "give" in a hard drop. If you change your mind on those I'll buy the first set.
FWIW: Twisted Throttle (just up the country road from my place) is
making a fortune designing/fabbing delrin "protection" of anything
and everything imaginable... primarily for adventure-style bikes.
Anything for the Rex would be of interest to me.
Just sayin'.
Just say no to mumbo jumbo.
I doubt. Therefore, I might be.

If you bolt to the cover, there should be enough M6 bolts to hold it there in case of a slide. If you used spacers and bolted to the cover mounts in 4-5 places I can see how it could tear a bolt out of the case. Maybe you could modify the ZX11 covers to take a small slider puck.
I have one of the Agras timing covers on my bike, and had the clutch cover too, but sold it... Agras makes a smaller version that is basically a piece of machined delrin that covers the small crank end bulge. Will try to find a pic. I preferred it because it has less hardware sticking out (leverage).
