Off to Ohio on the Connie.

Well, my plan was to take my van back to Ohio to visit my Dad for the week. I was taking my golf clubs (Yes, I play golf) and pick up my guitar and bring it back with me. As it turns out the family has a busy schedule and needs both cars. Of course this wasn't brought to my attention till last night............figures. I guess I'll find out for sure if I got my carb issue resolved for good or not. if not, I may be making a call or two on my way.

That sounds like a plan JB. I'll keep trying to get a hold of Greg too. BTW, I'm not shy on the board.

    My cell # is (414) 940-3676.

Greg is a little harder to pin down, still working full time and all, me I'm retired. My #'s floating around here too but lately the board has become full of undesirables.

Pulled in at 11:10 CST. My carb problem
Still exsists. I think it's that damn cheap air filter coming apart and getting sucked into the carbs. Happened not 15 miles from my Dads house. I'll pull the carbs tomorrow and see.

Well, stop doin' wheelies. Nooooooo body can land 'em like Groovie.
    Hope all was recovered.
Tele, I went to the junkyard and hauled a floor jack (aluminum), jackstand, and two tool boxes to retrieve a spindle for my sons Camaro. Surely you could squeeeze a set o-clubs in somewhere.

I missed 2nd on the upshift and it came down hard. I'm no GD but I can ride a decent wheelie on a 650+ lb pig.

I'm sure he shipped the clubs USPS.

Re: Off to Ohio on the Connie.

Looking for the correct fuel line routing, Doug changed it out and added a filter and he thinks he is getting some vapor lock, may be an air bubble in the line.

Also are the fuel filler caps the same as the ZRX, if so I'll need the thread on here where someone has dismantled the filler cap so we can if it's not breathing correctly.

We may pull the carbs and clean them, depends on what I find in the bowls.

Come on over and help Perko.

Jeff. Thank you for your hospitality yesterday. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family. I'm so glad we didn't have to spend our time wrenching on the Connie.

Thanks again Jeff. It was a total pleasure.

Re: Off to Ohio on the Connie.

I pulled in back home last night at 8:30. The Connie is running like a dream. Talk about a milage muncher. Had a hard start yesterday. A low pressure system sweep through Northeast Ohio in the morning. Started off in the trailing end of it with 35mph head winds till I reached the Western side of Indiana. Other than that it was a good ride.

Rode out to Gregs place Saturday morning. Nice place in the sticks. Thanks for the help Greg.

Good to meet you Doug, thanks for taking the time to do a flyby. Real glad we didn't need to tear into the Connie it had been a long day already and I don't think I had much sweat left.

I'll post our pic later, it's been couple long days and I'm off like a dirty shirt.
