What wears out and when ?

I have heard dynojet kits wear out parts ...any truth to it... my stage 3 pod set up seams to not be as smooth as before... recently cleaned the carbs and had a 2.5FP in it but went back to pods...runs a little ruff at part throttle aropund 3500 ... any input ?

Not specific to DJ kits, so far as I know, but all needles and needle jets wear after a while. Quicker on twins with their big pulses, less quick on inline 4s. Also float needles' rubber seals wear, as do the seats, but again, not DJ-specific, to my knowledge.

DJ needles are made of aluminum and wear rather rapidly.

i thought the fp 2.5 was for that muzzy set up with the air box and big single filter, i thought the fp3.0 was for pods.
be sure your jet kits is for pods.
also dont mis match parts. meaning dont run fp jets with dj needles, that fer sure dont work

The tubes never wear. The needle jets, which are above the tubes, steel and rarely wear. Inspect for roundness...wear will be obvious.

lower the needles a half setting, you didnt put them light weight dj springs in did you? they screw with the diaghrams returning when you chop off the throttle, they are too weak to adequately push the diaghrams and the resulting needle and slides back into thecarb
also dj versus FP use different sizes number for the actually same drill size hole in the jets, so aN 135 DJ AINT THE SAME AS A 135 fp
