I used to get email notifications on posts to threads in which I have posted up until about a week ago. No changed to my profile were made and my email addy is still in place. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Yes, it's one of the things that we don't have working yet, there are many. We figured it was better to be back on line with some things not working, than to stay off line untill it's 100%.
