I meant the comment facetiously but I honestly believe that my survival on the public roads, as it pertains to the driving public, is the less they see or hear from me the safer I will be.. The ability of motorcycles to accelerate and stop rapidly , and take up a minimal space, when coupled with the full attention of a capable rider will far outweigh the chance that the driving public will "see " us AND consider how best not to kill us .

I agree that John & Jane Doe public do not see motorcycles We are already invisible to most cagers. So let me get this straight you think you could ride safer, better, and more defensively by riding offensively if you were not seen at all-invisible or almost invisible that way 4 wheeled vehicles or larger can't aim for you or inadvertently pull over into you or run into you from behind, is this what you are saying? Come on-Really, think about it, if they already claim they don't see us, How would it be if they really can't see us?

Let me put it this way. I will continue to ride in a manner that is determined by my belief that EVERY car out there is going to either pull in front of me/ run into me from the rear or if on mliti lanes, will move into my 'space" .
There have been tests done to prove that the human brain sees what it expects to see . The majority of the drivers out there have no association with motorcycles and therefore when they see a single headlight , for instance, their brain registers it as a car with one headlight out OR and this is the killer, a car that is so far down the road the two headlights appear as one, giving them plenty of time to make that left turn into its path. Result dead motorcyclist..

In my opinion, the most important thing Motorcyclists could do for their own safety is to have a ride-with-a-motorcylist week where every driver got to spend a day on a motorcycle . At least then, their brain would have a base , albeit tiny, from which to recognize us on the roadway.

If my slightly exaggerated "Invisible" concept keeps people thinking/talking about the dangers we face as riders, then I will keep adhering to the concept

Hey Treewizard, I'll come out and say I think those actually look awesome - I bet they look even better when you are rolling - and I'm not usually a big fan of LED kits and ground effects... I like the way those light up the whole wheel - nice color choice, too

i cant see the lights directly at all when riding, its just a constant indirect glow from the sides. they are mounted exact center of the rim and i have to lean way over to see them directly. as i live in NC capital city i don't go down to many long dark roads and on the occasion i do and wanted to i could always turn them off via key fob
