It's never too early to plan a party. new plan. See below.
I should be home no later than 15/16October. Probably before. I invite all to San Antonio for a gathering of friends on the 21th, and a Hill Country ride on FRIDAY, 19 October.
Subject to change at anytime, of course. It just did!And no need to commit this early. Just letting you know. I'll start asking for RSVP's a couple weeks out. In keeping with my new found Army skills, we will call this the BRUCE from now on. You can't have too many acronyms in the Army!
Lunch at my parents house at 1200 on SUNDAY 21 October. Standard cookout fare. Arrive anytime over the weekend Between my parents place and my house, we can accomodate many over night guests. I think 6-10 at my folks house and 4-6 at mine. We'll eat around 1:00 pm. Afterwards I'll have a slide show and poor stories told well for a bit. A short and hopefully not boring overview of a year in Afghanistan. Overnight guests will be treated to left overs for dinner. And most certainly a movie or two on the big screen.
We'll meet somewhere as yet to be determined on FRIDAY for a day of Hill Country riding , with a few more stops than usual. But not too many. Plan on at least 200-250 miles.
My parents house is most secure, in a gated community and garage space for those overly paranoid types. We can accomodate minor maintenance there, but won't have the usual specialty tools for a mod party stuff. At the moment I have 2 spare bikes, one of which is spoken for. The ZX7 trackbike will need a few minor things to be roadworthy, but it can quickly be converted to street. Dibs early, and be prepared to do the work. I won't have time. it needs: clutch swapped from parts bike, rear brake light switch installed, end can minor repair and body work put back on. If you are really hungry for work, new chain and sprockets are ready to install. Tires are brand new.
Hope to see you there.
