Bossracer Returns Unto Civilization Extravaganza - 21 October

It's never too early to plan a party. new plan. See below.

I should be home no later than 15/16October. Probably before. I invite all to San Antonio for a gathering of friends on the 21th, and a Hill Country ride on FRIDAY, 19 October.

Subject to change at anytime, of course. It just did!And no need to commit this early. Just letting you know. I'll start asking for RSVP's a couple weeks out. In keeping with my new found Army skills, we will call this the BRUCE from now on. You can't have too many acronyms in the Army!

Lunch at my parents house at 1200 on SUNDAY 21 October. Standard cookout fare. Arrive anytime over the weekend Between my parents place and my house, we can accomodate many over night guests. I think 6-10 at my folks house and 4-6 at mine. We'll eat around 1:00 pm. Afterwards I'll have a slide show and poor stories told well for a bit. A short and hopefully not boring overview of a year in Afghanistan. Overnight guests will be treated to left overs for dinner. And most certainly a movie or two on the big screen.

We'll meet somewhere as yet to be determined on FRIDAY for a day of Hill Country riding , with a few more stops than usual. But not too many. Plan on at least 200-250 miles.

My parents house is most secure, in a gated community and garage space for those overly paranoid types. We can accomodate minor maintenance there, but won't have the usual specialty tools for a mod party stuff. At the moment I have 2 spare bikes, one of which is spoken for. The ZX7 trackbike will need a few minor things to be roadworthy, but it can quickly be converted to street. Dibs early, and be prepared to do the work. I won't have time. it needs: clutch swapped from parts bike, rear brake light switch installed, end can minor repair and body work put back on. If you are really hungry for work, new chain and sprockets are ready to install. Tires are brand new.

    Hope to see you there.

Congrats on Operation Bruce. Sounds like a total blast.

But first things first: thank you, Sir, for your service to our country.

gotta get the days reserved early, or the Swedish Bikini team might take the slot. You never know.

Thanks for all the support. As we get closer I'll get a head count and send out the details.

working on moving my departure from here here up a week, so 60 days to go is right around the corner.

    BRUCE will stay the same.

Plus, it looks like Harvest Classic on the Friday before. Rumor has it, I'll be riding a new to me GPz550! Good times.

Re: Bossracer Returns Unto Civilization Extravaganza - 20 October

    WRONG!!!!

Harvest Classic is Saturday. My daughter and I are planning to attend. I noticed Robin is planning as well. So we will arrange a meet there.

This will be Daughter 1's first real ride on her first bike, a 1972 CL100 currently under the care of BudZRX. We will probably have a support vehicle in tow, just in case.

    first post has updated details.

    Short version:

Hill country ride about on Friday, 19 October. details TBD.
Harvest Classic on 20th. But not a large group ride. I think that might be too much for Daughter 1. But we can discuss and see as the event draws closer. I'm thinking perhaps meet up in Kendailia then push from there with a the pack.
BRUCE at my parents on Sunday.

Still plenty of room for many folks.

OK. At a minimum, I'll have it at the house with the parts scavanged to fix it. Depends on when I get home if I can actually get it going for the Friday ride or the Harvest on Saturday. Depends on when you guys get to town.

Training at work won't allow for the Friday ride. I will be in attendance for the classic as well as the Sunday party.
