Intercoms! Looking for everyone's two cents here...

Hey all, not sure if this is the right spot to start this thread, but here goes.

I've been using a Chatterbox HJC-90 that I got used off a couple like 7 years ago and have been refurbishing it myself to keep it going. All my wife and I ever use it for is talking to each other and listening to background music when we feel like it. The thing is falling apart, I've gone through countless batteries because they wear out (we use it every time we go riding) and I'm looking to replace it. I've seen a million intercom systems out there. I don't want to spend $400 bucks on a pair of bluetooth wireless intercoms. Wires don't bug me. The way the HJC-90 works is that I have a unit on my helmet and she plugs her headset into it, as well as our mp3 player when we want music. This setup is perfectly fine for me.

I'm wondering what others use, what is new out there, what you all like to use. I'm by no means a Chatterbox fan, their quality is not the best as it seems every three weeks during riding season I have to do some sort of repair to the unit or headsets.

I'm looking to replace the unit & even headsets. Let me know what you use, and throw up a link if you can manage one. Thanks ahead of time for your two cents.

After doing quite a bit of research, I purchased these for my son and I. We've been really happy with the way the work, there's plenty of volume and they couldn't be easier to use. We purchased the snowmobile set because we didn't want boom mikes, although they do come with both styles of mike. Only downside is the range is only good for a 1/4 mile or so, but that was never an issue for us since we always rode fairly close together. If you ride with a full face helmet, I highly recommend them.
