any boat motor mechanics here????

While doing our local weekly bass tourn this eve my boat motor started acting up, its an 02 mercury 175efi, it started just up & dying @ low rpm's & not just sputtering to a halt it just instantly shuts off??????????

I would start with new plugs and fuel filter... if it still runs like poop, you might check the fuel/pump (pressure)

how old is the gas?

Sounds electric, like a coil or ign box breaking down. It's not a tune up or fuel pump or filter, symptoms don't fit.

ya its got fresh plugs & a fresh fuel filter so im good there. im thinking fuel delivery problem maybe, if i squeeze the ball fairly often it seems to die less, i dread taking it into the shop because that bill is never cheap

alcohol gas fugs with plastic bits. My check valves sealed to each other in the fuel pump. The shop said he had never seen it, then has seen it a dozen times in the last 2 years. Those are 10 year old plastic parts in there, not made to hold up to alcohol. It is an easy fix, but diagnosing problems is usually as expensive as fixing them.
