Like Rockon said I don't know what to say. Other than the keyboard in the chatroom I never met him but he was funny. It seems strange when somebody you have never met looses the battle and it hits us like losing kinfolk.
Shell and my thoughts are with him and his family.

Met him at the BBQ last year

We almost had a little meeting of the bikes, when I passed him on the Rex and his competitiveness got the best of him causing a little tightening of a certain part of the anatomy in the next corner. He apologized and earned my respect. His love for riding with his brothers was a great thing. May God comfort those he left behind.

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to this, I just got home from Seattle. I could not access the site from my mothers because I changed my e-mail address (Steve signed me on at Michael's house on his computer, so we had to switch to our correct e-mail addresses) and the new address needed to be verified from MY computer.

    The address is

    Francis Bell
    7044 Mary Ave N.W.

Thank You ALL for your support in this VERY difficult time.

It still amazes me that so many people can be brought together (both in good & bad times) from a common love we ALL share............OUR MOTORCYCLES & the love of riding them!

My brother Michael & I are both looking forward to riding with all the guy's we met at Rick's BBQ last year & meeting all the one's who will make it this year.

    Again THANK YOU!

I never met him, but felt his touch, and his words thru the wisdom and thought that was given to this board from him, to others.

    God Bless, KawBoy.

Is there a charity or anything we can make contributions on his behalf?

Saw this post the day it came but have been hesitant to write. Even though we knew, it's still very sad to get the news. I am glad I've met Steve on a few occasions. He'll always be remembered by the ZRXOA.....

May he find peace and comfort in the hands of the good shepard, and wicked twisties to raise a little hell in heaven.

May his family find peace in knowing that he was loved and cherished by so many friends and his memory will live on.

Our sister sent us his obit. It is as follows ....

Steven Douglas Bell, 43, a.k.a. "Kawboy," of Cashmere, WA. was born on September 8, 1959, at Ballard Hospital in Seattle, WA. He died in the early morning hours of March 12, 2003, at the Bailey Boushay House in Seattle, with his mother and older sister at his side.

Steve graduated from Ballard High School in 1977. He went on to the Ron Bailey School of Broadcasting and became a Disc Jockey for several radio stations in the 1980s such as KYSN, KXA, and KZOK. In 1990, he tried his hand at construction and eventually opened a small business for two years. After a serious ankle fracture, Steve switched gears and started driving semis in 1996 until August of this past year when he became ill.

Steve's debilitating six and 1/2 month illness was exacerbated by having to cope with the knowledge that he was dying and leaving his 8 year-old son, Brady, without a dad. This fact tormented him daily.

Steve was a life-long nonsmoker whose father, James Bell, preceded him in death, May of 2000, also from lung cancer.

In addition to his best buddy, his son Brady, Steve leaves behind his mother from Seattle, two sisters, three brothers, one niece, two nephews, and last but not least, his many motorcycle buddies across the states.

At his request, cremation by Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle. Inurnment at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1301 - 10th St NE, E. Wenatchee, WA., Saturday, April 12th, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. Memorials suggested to the Bailey Boushay House, 2720 E. Madison St., Seattle, WA., 98112, who's 2nd floor staff tenderly cared for Steve for the last two months of his illness.

(From the family of "Kawboy", thanks to all of you who were such good friends to Steve. A special thank you to Greg, "1040" from Michigan, for the donation of your hair to the Locks of Love organization on behalf of Steve. He was very touched to see your card and pictures of the "before and after." Steve suffered alot during his illness but all of you made it so much easier for him to bear. Thanks again!)

I just saw this post this morning and wanted to offer my condolences. They say God hears the prayers of innocent children the loudest, so i will include Kawboy in my children's nightly prayers.
