    Ulysses Touring Pegs

I'm sure there are much lighter pegs out there, but the Ulysses pegs seem to be a fair amount lighter than stock. And then I measured: stock peg 145g, Ulysses peg 83g after grinding to fit. Of course there are two, so the total weight saved is 124g or just slightly over 1/4lb. I believe that is first thing that has made both my knees (6'3") and my inner engineer happy.

The standard Buell pegs are way better looking and still drop you an inch.

The Ulysses look like they belong on a tractor.

As far as the grinding/drilling, in short the pegs are too wide at the mounting pin by about 1/16". That can be taken off with a belt sander or orbital sander in 5 minutes or so with 100-150grit paper (aluminum is like butter in my opinion). You will also have to do a little clean up sanding of the casting so that the pegs tilt all the way down to the stop (1 minute) and drill the mounting pin holes slightly bigger (I dremel'd the holes). All of the sanding/machining/drilling is to get the pegs to mount is pretty much covered up by the fork the pegs slide into.

I'm missing the difference between these and the buell pegs. They look pretty similar to my calibrated eye.

That is a standard Buell peg, not a Buell Ulyssis peg.

After some googling it appears my pegs are Buell "Rider Pegs", part number N0006.1AD. Either way they definately drop the pegs an inch or so vs. stock. My best guess is you have stock Ulysses pegs.

I've always thought these were Ulysses pegs, but the bags mine came in say "Rider footpeg"

    The part#"s are N0502.1AK, and N0503.1AK.

The only modifications necessary on these are drilling the hole out to the ZRX pin size.

While I prefer the Ulysses pegs, you are correct and they both drop an inch. Helped me with more comfort with my knees. The pic I posted was a Ulysses peg. The other pic is a standard Buell peg. Either work with little effort to mount. Slightly enlarge the mounting hole.

The tractor pegs don't look too bad, with the second view they look a little better IMO than the regular buel pegs.

They have a wider foot area. I found them to be nice and comfortable.

That's the trade off for dropped pegs. I bent my levers out to make it better.

Good to know, I'm already turning my foot in a little to take care of it with the stock pegs.

    Re: Ulysses Touring Pegs

I've had these pegs sitting around for over a year now. Come spring I will put them on! They are Ulysses pegs. My understanding is the will fit with no grinding, but I may have to enlarge the holes a bit. I sat on a ZRX that had them and they did seem nice to me.

The only place I found them online wants 36.00 a peg for them. I've got a friend at a Harley shop that I'm planning to hit up to see if he can find them any cheaper. It would be nice to have a little extra leg room for the day to day riding.

I ordered mine from Chicago Harley Davidson online. I don't remember the price but I know it wasn't that much, maybe 36 for the pair. You might want to check out their site. When I ordered they did not say they had Buell parts, but when I put in the part numbers they showed up & I bought them.

We have a board member in Beaver Dam, WI that I bought them from. He works at a dealer and I got a great deal on them. I can't remember his name.

If you want something that is built much better, and is a direct replacement with less pigeon-toeing than the crappy, cast buell pegs that look like they belong on a tractor...go here:

    http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=401

Cast screams cheap...milled screams quality (unless mill operator is a monkey)

I've got them on my ZX-14 currently. I've had buell pegs also (for about 3 days before I yanked them off). Direct replacement, no drilling or compromising the integrity of the peg. Nice wide area to move your feet around that will give you a very secure feeling.

I have the Buell pegs on my 14 and cannot complain but they do look like they will not take much abuse.
They do what I was looking for and that was a little extra leg room. One of these days I will order a set like Jon has to see what they are like.
